I like the Rush reference. Neil Peart is the best drummer of all time IMHO.
I prefer a traditional white helmet with the blue shirt and white pants at home, but the blue helmets looked sharp last night. I guess everything looks nicer during a blowout win.
Epitomize* but I do agree with you. Might as well have a lot of uniforms, everyone else does. Plus most of ours look good. Really don't pay any attention to the "blue and white are our colors" bs.
Our best uniforms are the more traditional. The gray and chrome is losing appeal fast. We look like idiots sometimes.
You don't see Nike messing with Alabama, LSU, auburn, Georgia uniforms. We want to be an sec football program but we don't want to look like one. We deserve all the losing we get.

I think the multi-combination look is a fad. It's just so the university can sell more jerseys. The 'traditional' powers have no trouble attracting 4- and 5-star talent. UK at 5-6 and languishing in mediocrity could have neon jerseys with Hunger Games-style 'on fire' uniforms and it isn't gonna get us better recruits. Win, baby. Just win. And you can wear anything you like.
Most of our 'combinations' look more like HS unis than SEC to me. I think Clemson's combinations are among the best I've seen: still school colors but a different color of the base colors are emphasized with each combination. Absolutely HATE the monocolor look: all blue, all purple, all gray, whatever. Looks awful no matter which team is donning it IMO.

No it really has nothing to do with red. But black and gray is really that bad? Only everyone does it except maybe LSU and Alabama. It's what gear is becoming now a days.
