From the way this one started I thought it was going to end up with NU being boatraced. I'm glad I have this opportunity to eat crow.

Tommy played a great game. I hope he gets the props he deserves.

Lot of mistakes by both teams, but if you like drama at the end of a game, you got it. Have to hand it to the defense, they looked staggered by George Foreman, but they had it when it counted. And the offense was big when they needed to be. Tommy is one tough young man and played a solid game to lift his team.

But that's really what made it a great win - could have folded the tent several times and didn't.

A lot of guts and plays led to this win. This team and state needed it.

Let's not forget two things:

1. Oregon's desire to go for 2 all day
2. Several penalties by Oregon.

While we didn't win the turnover battle, the penalty yardage was huge.

Lots of penalties. Was glad the Pac-12 crew knew how to deal with all of Oregon's grabbing by the DB's. Had they kept the flags to themselves the outcome would most likely have been different.

I am good friends with a big 12 ref. He has told that they definetly try to "even it up"
In this case it was just impossible. Kudos to the Huskers for keeping their hands down.

They also missed at least one when Moore (I think it was Moore - or maybe Morgan) was clearly hit from behind before the ball arrived on the play when Tommy got walloped on the sideline. We have that catch if he doesn't get hit first, which would have kept that drive alive.
