They were good wings and Tuesday night was $5 for any burger on the menu. But alas Bon Temps is no more. Not sure if he just closed it down or sold it to someone but I saw a post on FB that it was gone.
Wow.. I didn’t think not know that. Ms skipper said she heard about a week ago.
we just ate there about 4-5 weeks ago.
Oh well , hurricane grill is the place now unless you know another one?

Sanderson farm whole wings

Any grill where you can maintain a good 330 to 350

Toss in olive oil and cavendars

cook 15 to 20 each side

take off and dip in franks buffalo sauce and put back on until buffalo sauce is dried over

THANK ME LATER
Cavenders, I'd enjoy tossing those twins in Olive Oil for a bit, but cooking them? That seems a waste.

If you’re ever in Buffalo, NY I recommend going to the restaurant that created the Buffalo wing. The original flavor is very good and the wings are likely way cheaper than you’d think. Housed 20 of them with a side of honey hot sweet potato waffle fries

Slick Pig in Murfreesboro has the best wings I’ve ever had in my life. After the first bite I didn’t put anything on them…..they are smoked to absolute perfection.
Torn between trying this place out this week for the wings or going to Peg Leg Porker in Nashville.
Never been to the Slick Pig but I know for sure PLP is legit!

The whole wings at the Texaco station at Old West Point Rd/MLK are a good fall back when they are out of rib tips.

Smoked wings from local BBQ places usually. Regardless, wings are extremely overpriced. Especially for what was once considered a throw away item.
The proliferation of Buffalo wings should probably be a case study in economics, if it isn't already. Seems like a new wing joint opens up every week around here, and every existing restaurant has their own offering.

About 10 or 12 years ago, wings became more expensive than breasts on the chicken part commodities market. That was an all time first, and the trend is only growing.

That's why boneless wings, usually made from breast meat, are cheaper. Yes, they are really just nuggets, but I'm cheap, and I like them.

Greatest marketing job in history. 50 years ago you couldn’t give wings away.

If your ever in Lafayette, La go to Laura’s II. Get there before 10am and the line is around the block. Sell out daily. Probably the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Not joking
I’m not standing in that line for some chicken wings. Or really anything.

Turkey wings, but i get it. But really worth it. Line goes quick bc everyone gets the same thing. That’s all they sell. Turkey wings on a bed of rice and covered in gravy.

Baumhowers in the Foley outlet mall has excellent wings. They also have the best onion rings you’ve ever put in your mouth. Our local Pizza Hut has great wings but I’ve tried them at other huts and they didn’t stand up. Once a year I just have to have some Dodges convenience store wings.
When I was in law school at Alabama in the late 80s, Baumhower owned Wings 'N' Things on the strip. He licensed the name and recipe from a place in Ft. Lauderdale. I had never seen a place that specialized in wings, and they offered free delivery.

Having nothing else to compare them to, that was my standard for Wings. Everything else has to live up to that.

When he branched out on his own, I think he did the right thing and developed his own recipes. Good wings, but not the same.

Sub thread: Blue Cheese or Ranch for your wings?

The aforementioned Wings 'N' Things only offered Blue Cheese, so that is my default. I understand why some people think it's gross.

(ETA: Both carrots and celery were also standard. I feel gypped when I don't get both now, and some places give you no veggies at all!

I had some at Rotello’s in Southaven that were awesome. I’ll have to get them again to make it wasn’t just a good day because I sure wasn’t expecting great wings at a chain pizza joint.

Way too much smoking of wings around here.

You buy them whole, separate them yourself, save the tips for stock, fry them naked until skin is nice and crispy, and drown in butter and hot sauce mixture.

Moving on...

Khomeini said B2 wings covered in Bunkerbuster sauce. Hard to eat tho because they are undetectable. Especially if all the geniuses are looking at Guam. PS- in before the lock

There was a place in Hernando for a few years called Friar’s. They legitimately had some of the best wings I’ve ever had. They had to close because of out of town family/parent health issues.

Used to love the white bbq wings at rafter in gulf shores but that place closed a long time ago.
As far as chain, I like wingstop Korean bbq
After that hooters honey chipotle
I actually do like mugshots honey hot and mango habenero
Bww is okay with Asian zing but too much breading on boneless and fry the **** out of them on the traditional.

the local town pizza place where I live actually has really good wings.

I really like my own in the air fryer compared to anyone else. I make a honey hot bbq sauce that's really good on wings. Or I pick up some Thai chili sauce

In Memphis. The Southaven location closed a couple years ago. It was a sad day. They had the best wings, and the best hamburger close to me.
They were on Winchester right on the line to the bad part of town back in the old days. I googled amd see they are in Germantown now. Guess they followed the money.

Lot more on the menu now too.

Don’t knock it til you try it. And I understand the sentiment…….but their smoked wings are outstanding. Really unbelievable.

It’s still shocking to me that a restaurant that good, and consistently good, is in Starkville.

I'm sure they are. I'd never turn down most anything chicken if it's prepared well. I just like traditional hot wings the original way. Pretty hard to not dry out a wing smoking it.

I clicked on this just to say Baumhowers, I've been to a few of them and they are always great.
