Yes, that is why I was saying the worst case is someone wanting Taylor money.

Was just talking about this today. We have 3 top 10 guys in 27 and now psu has 4. If we could have had basset and Miller to add to that group I would be feeling a lot better. I dont know if we would have had the money for Bassett and Miller and the other 5, but would have been nice.I saw a video of Bassett meeting Franklin at Vtech recently. Franklin asked him if he was in school there now, and he said no, he just spends a lot of time training there now. I wanted to puke. You put Bassett and Miller along with the 27/28 class and add a few more quality guys to those classes and we would be very competitive with okyst, and even competitive with PSU. I also like daydreaming about winning the lottery, even though it will never happen

things have evolved... you don't have to be an asst coach to be part of the staff anymore. I think that's the change people want to see, Mstar moved to recruiting coordinator role and bring in a new coachI have zero issues with Morningstar being on staff bc he's the driving force behind our recruiting. While its still left plenty to be desired, I cringe to think what it would look like without him.
Agreed.things have evolved... you don't have to be an asst coach to be part of the staff anymore. I think that's the change people want to see, Mstar moved to recruiting coordinator role and bring in a new coach
I really doubt Nolf is willing to take any assistant job under any circumstances. He may not demand Taylor's money, but he will demand Taylor's level of control over the program. Nolf and Taylor were part of the program that revolutionized wrestling and made the greats of the past like Smith and Brands and their methods obsolete in today's sport, which is exactly why this conversation is happening at all right now. He's not going to suddenly turn around and subordinate himself to that.It would have to be Dake or Burroughs to have a big enough name to demand Taylor money. I know Nolf definitely wants to be a head coach and already has the people in mind he wants on his staff. I would imagine it’s Morningstar and Telford. I would think by now Morningstar would be a candidate for a smaller D1 program head coaching job. Nolf could sign a contract that guarantees him the head job when Tom retires. Only way he may consider an assistant job. My nightmare is the AD being lazy, and just handing the job to Morningstar when Tom retires.
Major troll or major douche canoe, take your pick.I really doubt Nolf is willing to take any assistant job under any circumstances. The like is basically for using the term douche canoe.Major troll or major douche canoe, take your pick.
Have Nolf on staff enhances recruiting. He was a better college wrestler than Taylor, just had to guys in his way at the wrong time. I hated not seeing him get a world gold.things have evolved... you don't have to be an asst coach to be part of the staff anymore. Man, I am a giant fan of Nolf. He is definitely my favorite PSU wrestler under Carl. I even wanted him for the Hodge, even though he didn't get it. But, with that said, it is really hard to say he was better in college than DT. Mind you, DT is probably my LEAST favorite PSU wrestler under Carl, so I in no way enjoy arguing in DT's favor, but the guy was an absolute monster in DI.Have Nolf on staff enhances recruiting. A lot of fun wrestlers to watch in the list.My crumple up the resume PSU top 10 tier under Cael. Active wrestlers are not eligible.
1. Taylor
2. Ruth or Zain
4. Nolf
5. Nickel, Star or Brooks
8. Wright or N. Lee
10. Cenzo or RBY
Don’t worry this workout should be pivotal in closing the gap in March!!
good grief
I like Nolf and I don't like Taylor. Therefore Nolf is the better wrestler imo, logic be damnedMan, I am a giant fan of Nolf. He is definitely my favorite PSU wrestler under Carl. IMar blocked Nolf from being a 4xer, while DT had Dake and Bubba block him. I am not sure I would put IMAR anywhere close to Dake. You also can't forget the semifinals match with Hidlay his senior year. Many, even some PSU fans, thought he lost that match...
Here they are side by side(or up and downs in this case:
Nolf: 115-3(2 losses to IMar as a freshman and 1 injury default to Van Brill his junior year) with 103 of those wins scoring bonus points. He would take 2nd,1st,1st and 1st at NCAA's. Although I would agree that his weight classes were "deeper" overall, once IMar left after his freshman season, I don't really think there was ever another "elite" guy at his weight with Hidlay(same weight 2 for 2 seasons) and maybe Kemerer(at same weight for 2 seasons) being the closest to that moniker. Guys like Deakin, Pantaleo, M. Jordan, Berger, Palacio, Joe Smith, Walsh and Brascetta did a solid job adding that depth.
Taylor: 133-3(2 losses to Dake as a junior{Dake was a senior} and 1 to Bubba as a freshman) with 124 of those wins scoring bonus points. He would take 2nd,1st,2nd and 1st at NCAA's. Having a 4xer and arguably the best DI wrestler of All Time(short of Carl) block him his junior year is the only reason he didn't finish with 1 solitary loss(Bubba) for his entire career. Now, I would agree that his weight classes were nowhere near as deep with Caldwell and Fittery being the only 2 I would say that were even close to elite. But, DT absolutely wrecked everyone else that he wrestled to the point that making the weights deeper would have only ended in 10-2 type matches instead of TF's and FALLS.
Again, I openly admit I never liked DT, but the guy definitely was one of the very best DI wrestlers of the last 20 years or so...
You must be one of those guys that’s still ok with tom ruining guys and Iowa wrestling as a whole.

Does it?!? Are SEM kids super cool?Reminds me of seeing SEM kids including Bartlett do repeats up the dike/levee here in Kingston. That ****’s a lot harder than it looks.
Great run down. I was just amazed my Nolf's creativity and arsenal. Winning a title one one leg is the cherry for me. Technically he seemed superior to Taylor.Man, I am a giant fan of Nolf. What a disgusting and dumb thing to say. Be proud of yourself. You come off as a low IQ bleeding woman constantly… Be proud of yourself.
No matter the reason or how justified you may feel, the meme fits so perfectly because ALL you do on here from start to finish is whine…You must be one of those guys that’s still ok with tom ruining guys and Iowa wrestling as a whole.
I get it you are pro brands to an extent. I would never argue with you because you don’t post dumb things on here. Hey didn’t V-baby get kicked off of here for posting something stupid? No matter the reason or how justified you may feel, the meme fits so perfectly because ALL you do on here from start to finish is whine…
Speaking of stupid, you jumped right past that to rambling incoherency….I get it you are pro brands to an extent. I would never argue with you because you don’t post dumb things on here. Hey didn’t V-baby get kicked off of here for posting something stupid?
And as a PSU troll you shouldn’t . For the Hawk fans out there, this is an iconic workout that goes back to the Gable days. A hawkfan trying to use it as part of the narrative to run down the Brands bros is ignorant af.Lot of angry people. I don't get it?
Yeah, where is VBaby?I get it you are pro brands to an extent. I would never argue with you because you don’t post dumb things on here. Hey didn’t V-baby get kicked off of here for posting something stupid?
VBaby dropped an N bomb and presumably got put in timeoutYeah, where is VBaby?
