The reason I asked is because a moron OM fan on facebook is saying Eli is the best Manning QB of all time and I thought that was hilarious..

Is this question proof that judging QBs on Super Bowls is ********? Eli finished 35th in QBRating this year.

Absolutely no one on thus planner would pick Eli over Peyton.

Not even close, Peyton much better but neither

One if them would have been worth a **** 30 years ago because they are both very average athletically. Their dad had balls.

You're obviously an old timer and every old timer thinks X person was the greatest ever....blah blah, Jim Brown was the greatest, Johnny Unitas was the greatest and on and on. You can't really compare across eras that much because of rule changes and extreme increases in athleticism, etc. Peyton is 17ing great. Peyton, Brady, and Montana are the best ever. Peyton didn't play great but the real failure was not Peyton, it was the Oline and the Defense. They were atrocious.

Jim Brown is without a doubt one of the few players you could take from that era and drop into today's game. The guy was a bad ***.

right now, Payton without a doubt. Of course that could change over the next 10-15 years but I don't think it will. Payton is the better QB and will be remembered as such

Wasn't Peyton's fault? Those picks he threw were absolutely his fault. And those turnovers are what cost them the game; by the time you get down 3 touchdowns and your offense can't even get in the red zone, you stop giving a ****, I don't care what stage the game is on.

Also Elway is a better QB than Peyton. Brady and Montana both won consecutive rings, and so did Elway. Peyton will never do that. Peyton is Dan Marino with a ring and more SB appearances. Brett Favre with better stats in some areas basically.

If Eli had gone to a real college, he'd have become the greatest QB of all time

If he had followed family to Tennessee, or had gone to Texas or Virginia like he wanted to, he'd probably have 4 or 5 SB rings and have broken every NFL record....he'd be considered the Wayne Gretzky of the NFL.

Going to Ole Miss hindered his development as a QB and as a person for years.

Not Peyton's fault? It was as much Peyton's fault as any other bronco. If you wanna place blame though, blame John Schneider and Pete Carroll for putting together one of best defenses since '85 bears. Seahawks were better and that was the problem for the broncos not Peyton, oline, etc

There was an idiot on twitter last night saying that had Peyton gone to ole miss

He would be winning more Superbowls. This is the same guy that thinks Talty is a State homer.

And to answer the question, Peyton is one of the best of all time. Eli is one of the most overrated of all time

I was trolling a little, the scotch and winning the party pool had me a little

giddy. Peyton is by far the better QB but I do believe both would have struggled back in my day because neither likes to get hit. Today's game is so different for the QB position it is almost like they are playing a video game while everyone else is playing football. Back in the 60's, 70's, 80's a QB was the main target and got hit almost every play. The goal of the defense was to put the QB out of the game. I think both would have been good QB's but their stats would not be what they are in today's game.
