I’ve got a betting hedge question for you guys. So, I’ve got $300 on Iowa over 7.5 wins at +130 and $500 on Nebraska under 7.5 wins at +135. Essentially, $800 to win $1065. With Iowa being favored, I’m in the drivers seat for a nice middle.

If I put $900 on Nebraska +6.5, I’d win money no matter what. The breakdown:

Nebraska wins, I win $3 total.

If Iowa wins by 6 or less, I win $1868.

Iowa wins by 7 or more, I win $165.

Do I just let it ride and win $1065 if Iowa wins?

You don't bet the point spread on this you take Nebraska on the ML. Or you could put some on the ML and some on Huskers +7. That's the line currently or at least what I can get.

You could take Nebraska on the moneyline at +220. 500 to win $1100. If Nebraska wins you net $300. If Hawks win you net $565.

If you wager $900 on Nebraska at +6.5, how do you only win $3 if Nebraska wins?

Nebraska wins: +$900
Losing both season win totals (dipshit bets): -$800

You're up $100

The vig. $900 risked at typical -110 odds would get you a win of $818. His math is quite correct but close.

I like the idea of having a good window at winning all three bets. It’s a dream scenario. I’m a bit reluctant because I wouldn’t wanna be the least bit upset at Iowa winning by 8+.

Just the the Hawkeye athletic dept, no guts to just put it on the line and take a chance. Instead play it safe but limit your potential
Is that what you call Nebraska’s strategy since the turn of the century? Putting it on the line? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks but no thanks, we’ll stick to winning 8–10 games every season with that final regular season win always being against you dorks. Enjoy looking over the scrapbook and talking memories from last century tomorrow at your Thanksgiving dinner.

Have you tried digging a deep hole, then having your husband bury yourself alive? That’s the smart play

You forgot to figure in the vigorish. You gotta bet $990 to win $900 if it's a typical 110 bet.

If Lois Feldman walks into the men's restroom, do you...

A) Tell her to get out, or
B) Do the humpty, or
C) Pose for the cameras, or
D) High five your buddies
E) B then C then D then A

Choose wisely.

I took a 10 leg parlay last week that was VERY Penn State focused (I did place half the legs on Huskers, but they were incredibly small markers like 10 receiving yards for Nyziah, 10 receiving yards for EJ, etc).

Hit 9/10. Took the under and that ultimately fugged me. Instead of a $3,000 payout - I got zilch.

Moral of the story here - if you're going to bet against your team, do so in a way that insures your team and your bet cannot simultaneously lose. So yeah...if that can't happen here, go for it.

Action has no impact on the outcome of the game, so ignore anyone who claims it makes you a lesser fan. The team will not perform worse because you make a wager against them. And I promise if you're a real fan, you'll never be emotionally torn. I am ALWAYS down to lose the money if it means Husker glory.

Yes, being scared to take chances is what you and the Hawkeye football program does. Content with doing ok while knowing you’ll likely never do great. “Thanks but no thanks”. 🤣when a loser mentality.
and you say since the turn of the century for Nebraska, get real with the exaggeration. I realize you probably won’t understand this mindset but again you are content with never being great.

Historically, these games have been close and NU is at home. If you can still get 6 1/2, I would buy a point to +7 -130. That way a seven point push, still gets you that $1065. But adding that extra vig with buying a 1/2 point or even buying a full point to +7 1/2 is gonna put you in the negative if Iowa wins by more than seven. So if you don't like Nebraska to cover, don't even think about this.

What I would do is slap NU into few $20 teasers. Take NU to +12 1/2 and pair them with some other teams. It's supposed to be a low scoring game so getting an extra six points should mean something. Tease NU with the Texans for 20, with the Pats, and with the Eagles.

Be honest, what is in the iowa football scrapbook.
Like, pick 10 things that would be in that scrapbook, what would they be.

You have such an inferiority complex. Remember when Iowa supported racist culture in the football program. Former players spoke out about it but all the fans said they were lying.
