At least half the country doesn't give a goddamn **** about college baseball. All of it cares very deeply about college basketball. Let the Big East and Big 10 have half the top 20 teams in college baseball and then see how easy it is to make a super regional.

there are 64 teams and UM essentially had a 2 or 3 seed by being a regional host. A 2 seed should usually make the Sweet 16. Frankly, I think the comparison is bad.

..I guess everybody is forgetting all basketball tournament playoffs are @ netrual sites.

Bianco has freakin' EPIC FAILED numerous times in his own park, in front of his own home crowd.

When Stansbury begins to choke away NCAA tournaments in the Hump, get back to me with the Bianco/Stansbury comparison.

I give him 50/50 with Sidney.

Wonder how Bianco and Boone's conversation this week will go?

Why do you even have to say Stans won't EVER make it if he doesn't this next year? Take a look at some of the talent coming through this state in the next couple of years, and who knows what could happen 5-7 years from now.
It's just another chance for you guys to take a shot at him and build this up to be a "now or never" year so people will be 10x as disappointed if we don't make it.

He's had better teams in the past than this next one, who's to say he won't again?

He has never had the talent on a team that he will next season. And probably never will again. Varnado, Augustus, Sidney, and Bost are all potential draft picks, possibly even Riek or whatever his name is, depending on his development...

Playing Texas in Dallas. Playing Memphis in Little Rock and Washington in Portland. All three of those were home games for the other team. We always get crappy seeding in the Big Dance. Ole Miss gets home games all the way to Omaha and still can't pull it off. Bianco's legacy took another big step backward this week. Wait till Cohen gets his players onboard and we will be Omaha regulars.

For the Regional win or the SEC Co-Championship?

If they fire him because he can't make it past a SR, that's kind of crazy.

I tell you there are some un-happy rebel donors today and Boone will let Bianco hear about it.
Southern making the CWS makes it even worse for Bianco.

Remember what happened to Cutcliffe.

no excuses. Butler in Bham. The only time we got "screwed" was the Texas one. If we didnt "barely" make the tourney we wouldnt have to worry about that kind of **** as much. Memphis and Portland were not screw jobs. We were the ****** team so we got shipped out. Little Rock?

Nobody argues that Dallas wasn't a screwjob, but then they changed the rules. It sucked getting shipped to WA but that's what you get when you're a 13. And surely we're not bitching about playing in Little Rock now.

Sweet 16 = Baseball CWS = SEC Football Championship Game
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">I would say that the SEC football Championship Game is bigger then the Sweet 16 and Baseball CWS. Reason: There are only two spots for the SEC Football Championship but 16 spots for the Sweet 16 and 8 spots for the CWS and the margin of error for winning the West or the East is much smaller for the SEC Football Champions then the margin of error to get into the other two tourneys.

I said better team, not talent. And being a better team is more than just having talent, and in my opinion this team won't have near the chemistry and poise that the team had when we went 14-2 in SEC play and undefeated on the road.
And saying we'll have more talent is also debatable, b/c we haven't even seen Sidney play yet, and there have been overhyped players before.
Zimmerman > Bost
Bowers/Frazier/Power > Stewart/ Ravern/Turner
Roberts > Varnado
Ignerski/Vincent = Sidney/Osby/Augustus (Vincent wasn't as talented, but brought so much more on defense and rebounding than any player on either of these teams)

with Bianco makes me realize just how stupid it would be for us to fire Stans (not unlike Auburn firing Tubberville). There is no doubt he's a fantastic coach, but for whatever reason he cannot make it to Omaha. We're talking about the difference being a few well-placed outs (or in our case, made-baskets). I'm not saying that Stans doesn't do some things that infuriate me, just that he is not currently fireable, even if he doesn't make the Sweet 16 this year (and I think that he should).

well, actually I dont...but Zimmerman and Ignerski didnt play for the team that went 14-2 in the SEC and undefeated on the road...that team played 7 players, with Ervin and ****** Marcus Campbell coming off the bench...This team is way more talented than that team...Bost as a Soph is going to be as good a PG as Bowers was, he averaged less TO's as a true Freshman than Timmy did as a Sr- but Timmy was a little better defender than Bost will be...Frasier? He shot 33% from 3...streak shooter..

and I don't see how you can talk about chemistry before they even play- hell, Roberts joined the 14-2 team in August and started playing in November- how come he was able to develop chemistry in 2 months but these wont?

If Stansbury doesnt do it this year- it's never going to happen

Yeah, he had some games where he was amazingly hot, but they were way too few and way too far between. Overall, he kind of sucked as a 3-point shooter. He did a lot of other things well for us, but he just wasn't a good shooter, except on those rare nights when he couldn't miss.
