According to a bama guy, I'm hearing that Ward is talking dead serious
with the bama staff about going there. They understand that they have
to take care of his mom because she will be threatened. The plus is
that since his mom his taking classes at State, she'll only be 82 miles
away.


I thought this was BS until I read in another thread here that Ward's mother might be transferring to Ole Miss and moving to Oxford. So there may very well be a bidding war going on with this guy.

I thought I read several articles over the last year that said Bama was always Ward's favorite. No question he'd go there if it "worked out".

That Richt is close to flipping a Bama commit (forget who), so theoretically, that would open up a spot for him

He said that Ward is still their board. I called bs, and he swore that the game is still on in Monroe county.

Ward will sign with Mississippi. Coach Duncan spoke at Rotary today. CW was with him. He took questions. Said AU recruited him the hardest. Said playing with his brother was the biggest factor. Said he canceled his trip to Bama this weekend. He's a bear.

Grew up there. This is not an accurate statement.

There is more Bammer influence than either UM or MSU in Monroe county.

Except Amory. At least when I lived there it was decidedly more UM/Bama.

I agree with you that it would be foolish to count Bama out for CW, but out of the guy's own mouth is his statement that he is NOT going to Bama this weekend. Bama has their weakside DE already in this class.

And sometimes, Saban does not get everybody he wants. See Nick Brassell.

They do in the fact that both were paid a crapload of money to come to Tuscaloosa. Bama pulled out big money for Means, and they dang sure pulled out big money for Saban.

agreed that Albert Means didn't see the money. Point still stands that if Bama wants something bad enough, they have the means to make it happen.
