I actually thought Brands was being really strategic and throwing it late to give Block even MORE time, but that it backfired.

I am sure this has been discussed, but how did PSU get to host this tourney again after hosting it in 2022? It hasn't been in Iowa City since 2016, correct?

VV isn’t a backup. He split time all year long and Brands chose him as the starter. Should he be a backup for a team like Iowa? Yes, but he’s not.

It’s sad these types of comments are coming from Hawk fans. That, in and of itself, sums up the current state of our program. Block wins the match simply if he’s in shape (and it’s March🤷🏼‍♂️). Sad l but you get only what you earn.

VanNess is the least talented wrestler on their roster except for Braeden, and yes I know his credentials but let’s not act like beating him is like beating Messenbrink.

Block loses to VanNess 99 times out of 100 - you have to try something there in this 1/100 opportunity.

Blaze goes down and looks bad doing it. How did Mikey lose to him? That should lockup the 2/3 seed at nationals after he hammers the Rutgers kid in the semis.

Take the bias out and just watch the matches so far. Who hasn’t wrestled visibly better than their regular season?

Other than Voinovich, whom I said should NOT be a starter this year when Robiduea destroyed him at National Duals, this is the best EVERY guy has looked all year. It may still not be enough for many of you, but it’s undeniable so far.

Maybe it corrects itself by the end of the tourney, but being negative now is simply because you WANT to be…

Unless Williams is injured, he should be on the bench. The match with OKState at National Duals made that glaringly obvious…

So he’s the backup because you say so and not the head coach?

FWIW I agree with you on thinking VV is worse but that’s not what Tom thinks.
