No, just started watching. Should I be excited about our second seeded wrestler losing to a five seed with a conference title on the line? And even more excited about him not having a takedown in the match, giving up a takedown with 30 seconds to go and then not being able to escape? Shucks, he tried hard!
It's not even Spratley. He's a freshman, oh well. It's just such a culture of underachieving in this program currently and has been for a long time now.
Pump the brakes bro. It’s hard being a fan in good times and in bad times, but we do not have a culture of losing. We’ve had some lean years but I feel these boys are wrestling pretty good. ISU has one hell of a team this year and we have a good YOUNG team that will only get better. IMO, so far, this year has been a very good breath of fresh year. We still have nationals, keep your chin up.
This is over. Feel sorry for Williams. He tried but don't think he was really healthy enough to wrestle this match.

Onto nationals…just wasn’t in the cards for us this year. Iowa state definitely earned the team title this year
Looks like that injury for Williams may be bad enough he may be a question for nationals. That would suck for him.

I give him a lot of credit for even trying, but he obviously didn't have it in him tonight. Here's hoping he can be well enough to wrestle in Kansas City.

This had been a pleasant year until the past few weeks. The Iowa dual was embarrassing. Not winning a conference title this year sucks. Now we're four years away from our last one. Nationals will not go well. Every "program worst" has been achieved since 2010. We haven't had a dominant wrestler since Dieringer. Just so frustrating.
The way he fell, it looks like an AC separation. If it was grade 3/4, he wouldn’t have wrestled at all. So, likely a grade 1/2 which makes the arm really weak and all contact feels like death… but not likely to disable him in a couple weeks.
No inside information, just observational.

Downey from NIU looks dang good on defense. Chittum would have at least two takedowns against anyone else.

I don't know if thats the injury, but if it is it
Grade I is 10-14 days
Grade II is 3-4 weeks
Grade III is 6-8 weeks up to 12 weeks in some cases.
I hope it’s a grade .25. He’ll be ready by Monday.
