As I sit here watching Kansas and Texas Tech, it looks like WR are open every play in multiple spots on the field. I am wondering how much of the Big 12 offensive prowess is due to a pretty big lack of defense. Likewise, is the SEC in general horrible offensively or just really good defensively?

Skimming over the NCAA stats, it looks like the top Big 12 Defensive ranking is Oklahoma at 34th. Meanwhile, there are 8 SEC teams above 34th in total defense.

Kinda a chicken and egg type question, but I'm guessing the answer is a combination of both.

the truth is somewhere in between. I would be curious to see how UT, Tech, OU, OSU, Mizzou and KU's offenses stacked up against the top 6 SEC defenses. I would have to say that the Big XII would have a slight advantage.

There are some great offenses in that league, but the defenses are worse than terrible. It'll be interesting to see come bowl time how those great offenses do. I'm betting they find the going a little tougher then.

looks very suspect today. They are getting torched by a decent, but not great K-State team.

KU's defense has been abysmal today against Tech. They are dropping back in a zone and just letting Tech march down the field. They are playing defense like France did in WWII.
