Big 12 has no power to raid a top team.

Might as well grab Colorado, Utah, Memphis, and USF. Strike while your opponent is weak.

If they can poach Colorado and Utah then they should swinging bigger than Memphis and USF. The two Arizona schools would be good targets. UW and Oregon would be the best but I can’t imagine they don’t join the B1G as well in the next 1-2 weeks

Colorado former Big 12 member would kill to get back in now with Texas gone. Utah would be a huge get if possible. Both Arizona schools. Do you really need two schools in Arizona?

If you get Arizona at that’s a great TV market in phoenix. But both AZ schools why not.

I say get as many as you can.... and figure it out afterwards...

Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Arizona 2, Take a shot at Oregon & Washington and if you can only get 2-3 so be it...

Ultimately the larger you are, (as long its with decent programs), the more power you have in negotiating tv & streaming deals.

If we could get both arizonas, and Utah we would have 2 new rivalries between AState & ASU and Utah vs BYU, rivalries actually show to increase revenues & viewing participation (even for people who are not fans of either program, simply because they want to know which rival is best)..

We have a TV market that spans from Florida to Utah, thats pretty broad compared to SEC, ACC, or Pac10..

Now is when you are overly aggressive.... Its like buying real estate or stocks in 2009... There are more and more ways to monetize your network these days, and conferences havent even really began to tap into their full potential. If the BIG12 is operated by savvy business people, they should absolutely attack and pull a few programs over... Monetizing scale is the easy part...

Also, why havent conferences created a recruiting network of their own, that follows all the programs, sports, and recruits pursued for those programs in their conference.... Charge a monthly fee, create network shows, or **** just use youtube... Create a show that follows Basketball, then one for Football, then one for Baseball & Softball, then one for Soccer+Volleyball+etc... Offer insiders info packages, streaming packages, a way for people to engage even when their preferred sport is not played.... Each program could have their own "Special" for each sport... A way for them to actively collect user data...

They need to find a way to obtain........... data...

They need to harness the monetization power of their scale's(ie network's) data.... Do this by creating new ways fans can participate and engage...

Conferences are stuck in last decades business model, more importantly mindset.... Where is use to be all about MARGIN...... Thats your pawpaws ways of doing business cause now its all about scale & data. Conferences are missing out on a $50m-$500m revenue source there by not fully monetizing the value offered from their very large networks...
