Big 12 Conference Releases Preseason Football Poll

IRVING, Texas (July 16, 2015) - TCU was picked for the first time as the favorite in the 2015 Big 12 Football Preseason Poll, voted on by media representatives who cover the league.

The Horned Frogs garnered 32-of-42 first-place votes and 408 total points to top the preseason rankings, while Baylor received the other 10 first-place votes and 348 points. TCU and Baylor tied for the Big 12 title last year.

Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas rounded out the top five followed by West Virginia, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Iowa State and Kansas.

Head coaches and selected student-athletes will converge in Dallas from July 20-21 for the annual Big 12 Football Media Days. Both days will be televised live from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. CT nationally on FOX Sports 2 and on FOX Sports Regional Networks, including FOX Sports Southwest, FOX Sports Oklahoma, FOX Sports Midwest and FOX Sports Kansas City. Exclusive, live coverage from the event will also be available on the Big 12’s social media platforms, including Twitter and Instagram (@Big12Conference) with #Big12FB serving as the official hashtag of the event.

this projection would indicate around 7 wins. assume what should be 3-0 Sept, then beating K-St, TT, IS, KU.

no real signature, resume-like wins, but perhaps a feather in the cap 8th win in a mid to low tier bowl.

hurdling the recurring 7 win mark should be paramount in '15.

as it appears in July, the league is mostly top heavy. but having at least one real title contender is probably better than everyone beating each other.

Seems about right.

Imo, I think we can only rise too. For a football conference that so many refer to as 'deep' I'm not really impressed with what's being offered this season (overall).

If we can beat the four below us plus the two right ahead of us - those are both home games then we could be 6-3 in conference and 9-3 overall. Unfortunately we play 1,2,3 all on the road.

Think we can battle with Tex and Okie St for that 4-5 slot...especially since we have them at home and 2 W's head to head would bump one or both out potentially. ..however as you say Woody those top 3 on the road is a daunting task...we can only hope the Mountaineers steal one or 2 of those games...
