Yes, I have had a problem with Dana do you want the list if issues:

1. Over slept on a meeting with the Gov.
2. When Defensive coaches were in the film room getting players ready for practice Dana was out running around
3. Hired Joe Deforest and said defense was taking a back seat at WVU

5. Hired a Head of Football ops that got fired for doing crazy stuff.


I can go on and on....thank god we had an ex football player in Ollie Luck running our athletic department because he was handling all administrative duties.

Bottom line: I agree, you are making no sense, one minute you are trashing me for trashing Dana but the next minute you want him gone.

Most competent head coach's don't need there AD to tell them they need to hire and Offensive coordinator add that one to the list.

They do have a great coach and a nice new stadium, but eventually TCU will slip back - all teams do.

Do you expect Baylor's success to continue? IMO, they just saw the last of their glory years.....perhaps after this season.

Tcu will have down years and I think this year will be one of them but they have a good coach and play in an overrated middle heavy conference they won't stay down for long. Outside of Oklahoma and Texas no team has the ability to remain on top every year if the right personal is in place. Baylor's glory days will come to an end but the ghost of Art Briles will live on im sure they'll go though quite a few coaches until they can find someone like Briles, just like TCU did until they finally found franchione and Patterson . Texas Tech is searching for the next Mike Leach and won't stop until they find him. You have to respect these programs at least didn't accept mediocrity and strived for the best they could be..

We just disagree on that. Colorado wasn't winning 9 games a year, nor Rutgers. These are long term commitments and plus/minus 1 or 2 wins over a period of a couple seasons is irrelevant.

We won big for a long time and that never seemed to matter to the ACC or SEC.

Colorado was approached by the Pac 12 during the attempted raid of the Big 12. They where the only one that accepted. The big 10's interest in Rutgers was television driven. The Acc approached Wvu after Maryland left but we where too far along in the process with Big 12. When the ACC approached Louisville it was to appease the football schools that had been voicing there displeasure. The Acc broke with there traditional expansion model when they invited Louisville. If they would have followed past criteria it would have been Uconn. If the big 12 where to fall apart the only hope for Wvu would be the Acc but if that where to happen we need to start playing better than 7-5.

Dana still has a large sum left on his contract after this season. If we go 7-6 and he keeps his job, then maybe the problem is our AD is penny pinching.

For all we know Lyons may have wanted to fire Dana but paying the 8 million to buy him out in a year when there was allot of coach's fired might have not been worth it if the guy you wanted wasn't available. Lyons looked really bad. Not a good first step forward as an executive.

Oliver Luck made plenty of mistakes, but Stewart did what he did for Stewart, not his old " Gold n Blue ". EP made sure Stewart got a big boat load of money from WVU when NO ONE in the country would have ever made Stewart a head coach.
He was allowed to hire (another huge mistake by EP) two unqualified people that ruined one of the best offenses in the country.

Oliver came along and with Stewart in the complete know agreed to the coach in waiting fiasco. After actually going to Houston with Luck in the interview process and agreeing to letting the offensive coaches know that they would not be retained after the season, he did'nt do what he agreed to do. He was suppose to tell the coaches and didn't, which actually hurt them because they could have been looking for jobs and employment for the following season.

Stewart undermined everything for his own benefit after agreeing to what OL wanted to do.

Whether you liked Stewart or not ( and i did ) that's basically what happened.

Stewart was a journeyman position coach that gave a speech, that he borrowed liberally from a few movies, at a time when a lot of fans were very upset about Rich Rod and was a interim HC when we won a huge victory against seemingly vast odds.

Its a shame that we are still talking about Stewart but its actually his most staunch supporters that won't let the man RIP.

At this point I'm undecided about Coach Holgorsen. The 2016 season is his HC graduation exam for me. He could blow it, but what if he aces it with a very good season competing for the Big 12 championship? Then it's going to cost at least $3.2 million just to keep him, maybe more.

People calling for RR to return-a coach that threw the most important game in WVUs history, then drove prime recruits away, badmouthed the university nationally, drug the university through the mud legally before paying up and bolted for another school where he was promptly fired--and has done nothing of note since? Whatever.

Hopefully Holgorsen can get the receivers and RBs to hold onto the ball this season--should be good for another couple of wins at least. We should see excellent QB play this year from Howard as well. The D has some terrible injuries unfortunately--but if they can just make some stops in critical moments this year the offense should be able to perform better in the red zone.

Everything this year will depend on Howard. I'm not optimistic when it comes to him. I don't think he has the " it " factor one needs to be " the man ".

Basically, the whole season hinges on a 5-10 slow QB that likes to call his number in crucial situations and he doesn't have the stuff to back up his decisions. The whole middle of the field is lost to him because he can't see over the O-line which greatly affects how the offense is run. Geno made hay in the middle of the field when he needed a first down, Howard throws in long hoping for a miracle.

Unless Howard has grown like 4-5 inches, I think we see the same as last year.

He did not shoot it down. He was speaking from the restrictions of a NDA, and I'm sure what he said was technical truth.

If he wanted to shoot them down, he would have said, "The allegations by Colin Dunlap are untrue", but he didnt.

He said the AD office could not substantiate rumors (and did not address WHICH rumor).

Dunlap has never retracted his statement. In fact, he went on the record with Casazza.

Face it. Stewart did what he did. You can still admire him but he's accountable for that episode.

WVU and Stewart had already settled. The only lawsuit he would have faced is the one he'd get for violating the NDA by giving media any details.
