BREAKING NEWS FROM SIXPACKSPEAK.COM

Starting Monday, July 6th, 105.9 FM will become ESPN Radio 105.9 The Zone. This 50,000 watt, 24 hour sports talk radio station will be the local home of:

The Out of Bounds Show with Bo Bounds (yes, Bo is leaving SuperSport 930).
Mississippi State Football
Mississippi State Basketball
Mississippi State Baseball (yes, we will FINALLY be on FM!!)
Madison Central Football (yes, Madison Central is leaving the Fat & Fatter Station).

As far as Mississippi State goes, this is big!! We needed to be on an FM station like this with all of our sports.

Hats off to Bo Bounds for making this happen! This is a big step!

He just can't say on the air where he is going. Or if he could not, he would not. He'll take the high road in leaving SuperSport. From what I hear, there is no bad blood between Bo and SuperSport. This is an opportunity to get his show on a 50,000 watt station as oppossed to a 5,000 watt station.

I also hear that the BankPlus studios, the Northwestern Mutual caller line, the Rogue Inbox, and the SixPackSpeak.com computer system will be moving with him.

I thought I remembered us being on an uber-powerful Jackson FM radio station before the turn of the century... </p>

MSU sports were on 105.1 last year...that's no big change. ESPN on FM IS a BIG change. Another urban gospel station is gone!

Yes you can pick up 105.1 anywhere in central MS....with 50K watts FM, it adequately covers all of that area.

I am personally not a fan of Bo or his daily Rogue, Shapely's, etc. lifestyle and trend reports, but this is a huge upgrade for him. Jackson and central MS has been waiting for the eventual move of sports talk radio to the FM band.....and its here. GREAT!!!!!

I was thinking 105.9 the whole time and writing 105.1. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

Its the same InterCity Group station that had the network last year. This really gives MSU a platform on a sports oriented station at a very desirable FM spot. Still great news.

I remember listening to a baseball game of us vs. scar before 2000 where we came back and got a walkoff hit to win the series. I was driving to Memphis up I-55 and was fairly far removed from Jackson, but still got to hear the end of the game.

We used to be on a decent FM station in the Jackson metro. I just can't remember who it was...

105.9 is jammed between Oldies 105.1 and Z-106. The 105.9 signal gets jammed. We'd be better off with Miss. Public Radio 91.3.
