Good thing we have a couple of really good offensive line coaches now who can sell kids and also pay them to play at Nebraska.

Would the Thompkins visit lead us to believe Pritchett is wavering?

I don’t think Barthel has the final say on who we recruit.
Coming from the guy who stated Rule was rated higher than any other Starting RB since Lucky. LOL

Just giving you crap. I won’t let you leave that one down but no hard feelings

and for the record since you seem to not know much about Nebraska’s RB recruting history. we used to be a major power in recruiting RBs. Even under Bo we were getting real interest and landing big named dudes. Tim Beck didn’t play with talent at RB. Generally if he did go after a lower rated kid, you knew something special was there because he didn’t have to do that

things went sour under Reggie Davis and we’ve never been on the right path since.

and when you recruit top backs you don’t have to squint your eyes to justify the kid

RBs, starting pitching, and Cars are a lot a like. Hard to find great ones. When they break down they never run quite right again. Super important to success. And when you find one that’s great, you hold on to it for dear life and take care of it. And in this day and age you need more than just one

I swear when I looked up Rule when he committed he was ranked nationally in the 20s at RB by the services. Now he’s 50+? That said, his offers were still pretty impressive. I’m so over the ranking of high school players. We’re seeing a lot of 4 and 5 star players in the portal who can’t get on the field. Yeah, the top couple of RBs are likely very good players but I keep going back to how average Lucky was for us. On top of that, he was NO WHERE as big as what rivals had him listed at. They had Helu listed as running a 4.8 40 when he committed to us. LOL.

Average when looking back because standards where so high. He was used differently than what we knew. Didn't he set single season record for receptions? I would take Lucky in a heartbeat right now.

The guy wouldn’t practice. Went down at the first contact. Nah. I would pass. We’ve got guys who can catch passes. He was a great check down receiver. Pffft.

And if that is true, then that helps explain the **** showality of Husker football. Hypothetically, if a position coach says we're really OK. I like our room. And some outsider gets involved, that would change things. More likely for the worse.

Let me get this straight. You wouldn't want a guy who ran for 1,000 yards in 12 games with 75 receptions for another 700 yards. But you think Chubba Purdy was a talent? LOL

Lucky had multiple future NFL O linemen in front of him and a true passing threat most of his time at NU. He was lazy and wasn’t near the back Helu was.
