NBC got what they wanted when they landed the Big 10 they don't need another conference now. The Big 10 got what they wanted having an association with the network that has been home to Notre Dame football for an eternity. NBC will have a Big ten matchup in prime time for the entire season. That matchup won't be Rutgers vs Maryland it will be one of the Big 10 heavyweights a ratings winner for NBC. One of the complaints that Oklahoma and Texas had about the Big 12 is to many Noon eastern 11am central start times. Fox and Espn did this because that's where they were able to maximize ratings for these teams. The Big 12 just couldn't compete with the Sec and Big 10 in prime time slots. NBC for the most part has been scaling down their sports coverage. NBC shut down their sports network last year. If Espn and Fox couldn't make it work for the Big 12 heavyweights in prime time then either will NBC.
