One time, I think. If I recall correctly, they held a late wrestle off between Schriever (I think) and Teske after submitting Schriever. The other time I believe it was a failure to make a change in the software/system for submitting wrestlers.
At this point, I'm convinced Tom and Terry have been abducted and replaced by Penn State shapeshifters who are doing everything they can to finish off killing the Iowa wrestling program for good........

If it is Iowa wrestling and something seems "really odd" it is just Brands being Brands, making it not odd at all.

As always pretty vague, I’m still not convinced Williams doesn’t get the nod come Friday. Apparently one 1 hawk is within the 15 pt threshold to change the preseed.

A major red flag if the Intellectuals voted against it.
Iowa will out-perform its seeds, and VV will take the title at 157, revealing that he has only been pretending all this time to be mediocre. Brilliant 3D chess by TNT.
Tom said in his interview that he had until like noon on Friday to make any lineup changes if necessary. Maybe he is seeing how JW handles not getting the spot in practice this week and will make a last minute swap at 157? JW is clearly better, but is not where he needs to be mentally. I don't know why Tom would even mention the final deadline to make lineup changes if he wasn't at least tossing the idea around, but who knows. The version we have seen of JW all season has shown flashes of talent, but he will struggle to qualify even if he doesn't change upstairs even if he did get a chance. I'm not confident that Iowa qualifies at 157 (we should with that number of allocations) and 141 just because it only had 7 spots if I'm remembering correctly (which was the lowest of any weight out of the B10). If they barely qualify they aren't probably scoring anything at NCAA's anyway I guess, but would like to get all 10 weights to NCAAs.
The Friday deadline is for any weight or reason. Angelo could not be cleared or an injury to someone in practice this week. I didn't watch it so he could have specifically referred to JW.
TNT may also have an inkling that JW has checked out and doesn't give a single F how he does in the post season. We've seen him give up at the end of matches several times this year. Maybe they don't want to risk it when it actually means something? And no I don't think VV is a better option other than the fact he isn't going to mentally pack his bags early.
Just watched a video on fb of Angelo doing bicep curls, so I’m pretty confident his ankle must be 100%
jw had troubles before the season even started, i am sure conditions were put in place. maybe one of those were violated.as much as most of you love trashing tom, it could be many different reasons why he is not wrestling
The problem with this argument is that it's always something, and the accountability for the TEAM's results is supposed to go to the top dog.

Blame Tom all you want for bringing JW in - but to criticize him for enforcing rules/expectations is wrong. Assuming of course there were. And yes, sometimes the team suffers because of an individual's actions.

This is nothing more than Tom doing his silly mind games again to get Williams questioning himself and everyone else questioning Brands’ tactics.
In no world is voinovich close to Williams in talent or ability to place at ncaa’s.
So under this ideology, what, if anything, is Tom responsible for? The team performance is at it's nadir under him in terms of individual and dual results, almost none of the wrestlers have any sort of consistent or dynamic offense, very few of them can scramble, half the team didn't allocate a spot at NCAAs, this is like the 4th straight year of weird postseason lineup situations, the Bassett situation, the Endene situation....
So semis on BTN and not BTN+ this year. At PSU with nearly all if not all PSU in the semis. Pretty sure what mat they will focus on. Don't know why they can't just keep the + option if a person might per chance have interest in bringing up the other semi.
Well for one - he has a bit of a history. Two, he clearly quit at the end of several matches this year. And three, I was referring to a post that in my take was, it is OK to bend rules for the benefit of the team. And yes I am paraphrasing. I also said "assuming of course there were" when stating my opinion. Context matters. I also very clearly stated that JW is superior to VV. But I'm sure you have all of your intel and facts in order and in no way are making any assumptions yourself.
The real issue is if there was not a concrete reason(s), why on earth would a coach on the hot seat sit someone who may earn more team points? And don't give me that is Tom being Tom because he's not stupid and is an alpha competitor.
He made a dumb *** decision to bring him in. That is the only thing I am responding to here because it was the only thing I took any issue with in your post. I as well think it is time for him to go.
I believe BTN+ the consi stream that starts 2 hours before the semis will keep running for the semis so you can watch consi matches. BTN TV will split screen the semis
But then you ignore the whole context of why this one thing is more infuriating than it would be in a vacuum; BECAUSE IT DOESN"T EXIST IN A VACUUM. It's just the latest in a line of crap.

No I'm not ignoring the other issues - I just chose not to address the others with my basic comment. I was commenting on JW and giving an opinion and nothing more. Big difference.

Am I correct that ALL sessions will be available on BTN+, but in the case of sessions on full BTN, not until that session is over?
