This weekend a tough early season test for three UofL women's sports squads.

FIELD HOCKEY brings in an improved IU squad on Friday that is 4-1 with a win over ranked Miami (OH). Then, on Sunday, #11 Liberty comes to Trager as the #11 team in the nation, barely losing to a very good Northwestern squad and demolishing three schools out west to start the season. The Cards FH program is #6 in the nation.

VOLLEYBALL will have their hands full up in Cincinnati, first facing Purdue, a perennial top 10 program and then Cincinnati, who has rebuilt nicely and took down Notre Dame in South Bend

WOMEN'S SOCCER is at Lynn for their next match -- they'll put their 4-1 record up against a Michigan squad that is 5-1 and #16 in DI rankings. It'is interesting that the ACC has four of the top five ranked teams in DI Women's soccer -- #1 FSU, #2 UNC, #3 VA and #5 Duke. Looks like no easy rides in conference play this year for Cards WSOC.

Good luck to all three squads this weekend!

Sonja, I believe the Cards will face #6 and 4-0 Purdue in volleyball today and then face either Xavier or Lipscomb tomorrow. All will be played at Xavier in Cincinnati They will NOT play the University of Cincinnati.

Sonja, Any idea why are Volleyball games are not being streamed live on ESPN+ this weekend? Looked like all other ACC teams were being covered.

Xavier is Big east and they have some sort of deal set up with Flo Volleyball for the broadcast. I wasn't gonna pay $29.95 for it, thinking it would be the only time I use it.
