The staff gave up. With 1:15 to go in the game, down 2 scores, we had the ball at midfield...then a few seconds later had it at the 32 yard line. We let the clock run out while holding 3 timeouts. A quick TD and recovery of an on-side kick and we still had a chance.....yep a very long shot but a chance to still win. Yet, we gave up. It would be my guess that our players are taught to NEVER give up and to keep fighting. Our staff did the just the opposite last night.

That was what baffled me the most. I was thinking the same way you were. In all honesty, the odds were stacked well against you, and I didn't think you realistically were going to be able to pull off the miracle, but when you're down two scores, as long as you have time to run 3 plays, you theoretically have a shot to score, onsides kick, and hail mary your way. The Auburn game two weeks ago showed that. There were at least 2-3 times on that final drive when you ran off 15-20 seconds of clock that didn't have to run. In theory, you could've had a few more shots from around the 20 with 45 or 50 seconds left if you had used your timeouts.

You'd still be fighting upstream without a paddle, but you take those chances because crazy things happen.
