Is the "bond" with the Alabama commits really the only thing driving this sudden shift for people? Because he has the same bond with the dudes at UK, which no one wants to acknowledge.

I guess we'll all find out tomorrow. I was all Alabama this morning, then between the UK players tweeting things and Harris being all UK on Twitter today I'm not sure any more. How cruel would it be to get people's hopes back up today and then crush them tomorrow?

We'll all find out at the same time I guess.

I wonder how much Yeldon declaring for the NFL will influence his decision. He is likely to see that as giving him a better chance at early playing time at Bama.

UKs ace in the hole could be that he wants to stay closer to home where that it will be easier for him to have family and friends at his games. I don't know however if that is a big factor with him. He seems to be real close to his mother so it could be a factor. Than again Bridgewater at UofL didn't seem to have any trouble getting his mother to games. I imagine that Bama knows the same tricks UofL used to pull that off.

Basically what I gathered from that is none of them have a clue. The Alabama writers are arrogant and don't respect UKs chances and most of the KY guys have chicken little syndrome.

So, so true.

What I got from that: Nobody knows.

All complete guesses in my view, with most going on the bond between himself and other Alabama commits from the Under Armor Game. Seems like a reach at this point.

Just to close to call at this point. Like probably most of the people in that article who have nothing more than a blind guess right now I would probably say 55% UK, 45% Bama.

There was 0 chance Yeldon was not going pro so I doubt it helps Bama any at all.

Bama still has Henry and Drake who both have played plenty of snaps. Bo Scarborough who is a beast and was highly rated and I think they redshirted 2 guys this season who were 4 stars last year. Also have a top 100 player and top 10 rb already committed in this class. Yeldon doesn't change that whole factor too much. While he may be around 3rd or 4th most talented on their team as a true freshman (w/o college experience at least), we have one in Boom who may be ahead of him, think he would be ahead of Heard (also different types of backs though.)

Even though I think unfortunately, that his pick will be Bama, I agree with MGH. His strong ties to the Alabama recruits because of the UA game? Really??

He has been to every UK home game except one, hung out with our players each time I would imagine, yet he is so tight with the Alabama recruits because of this one weekend.

I'd say it's more likely he relishes the idea of playing with that many elite players more so than any close relationships he developed in 3 or 4 days.

Of course national sentiment would be with Alabama. In their minds, we don't hold a candle to Alabama in recruiting or in anything that is football.

I would be significantly shocked if he did not choose Kentucky, and my guess is that he has really known that UK is best for him for a long time.

I do think there is somewhat of a "smoking gun" in this but not readily evident. If true what has been reported (since that's all I have to go by), given the location, given his history with the kids, the relationship with the coaches, and the numerous visits he's made means there has been some serious interest for a long time. It means that he cares about those people, and it appears that relationship development process is not something equaled by the guys in Alabama.

His reneging on his original commitment to Michigan is telling to me--it likely indicates that as Kentucky went its different direction with Stoops and with their renewed commitment to football with stadium improvements, better recruits, better on field success, he liked what he saw. It was like he wanted the hometown program to improve, and saw evidence of that. He wanted to be interested and liked when they showed the interest they did. This is not Joker's UK football team--this is Mark Stoops, football pedigree, AND Vince Marrow, who have come in and changed the philosophy and potentially the fortunes of this program--in my view, Harris has been intrigued by that and the possibility of staying at home is a strong lure. He also would have the advantage of trying Kentucky first--if that didn't work, he could transfer later (or vice versa).

I have no details about this and really only have a guess because of reading the "tea leaves" to this point and because I'm fairly knowledgeable of human nature. I have coached sports in high school, and am a retired teacher, so I also know kids. I may be totally wrong here, but my thought is that he might have been talking up Alabama a lot lately because he is now and has been convinced for some time that Kentucky is his best choice for him and all concerned. Yeldon leaving Alabama early (last night's news) may not help our case, but I think it has actually been something he determined long ago...to attend Kentucky.
