Bill Nye, wow, if he is a spokesman for global warming, they need to get someone else

What an idiot. Tucker Carlson asked him pretty simple questions and after much hemming and hawing, he made the following statements:

1. Global warming is 100% caused by man, beyond any doubt.
2. The science is settled on this "fact".
3. The earth's temperature would today be the same as the 1750 temperature without CO2 in the atmosphere.

Remember, we emerged from the Little Ice Age around 1850- 1860. Well before industrialization. As a result, the temperatures will begin to warm, it is called natural variation. So he believes our temps go back to 1750? Wow. BTW, he is NOT a scientist, he is a mechanical engineer.

I hope he remains a leading spokesman for global warming.

Nye BTW did not say that global warming is 100% caused by humans but rather that there's a 100% chance that the current acceleration in warming is caused by humans, his point being that natural warming and cooling occur but the rate that which warming is occurring now is so fast that it's not natural, thus there's a 100% chance that humans are causing the acceleration. Note that that is different than saying that 100% of the warming is caused by humans.

Nice try. Real scientist never say a theory is 100% accurate. He is either a liar or stupid or both. He said we would have temps of the 1750's without CO2. Science is about understanding the origins, nature, and behavior of the universe and all it contains.

Whereas engineering is about solving problems by rearranging the stuff of the world to make new things.

Engineering would not exist as we know it without science, but they are not the same.

Hey, you're the one with the anger issues. I responded to that post with facts. Nye won't debate a real scientist, why? Because he knows he would get destroyed. Heck, he got destroyed by Carlson, a journalist. I also pointed out that when a theory is 100% correct that theory proves a fact. Global warming caused 100% by man is not proving a fact, that is false. I have not read a single scientist making that claim. Have you?

I enjoy starting debates. You would too if you won more often. I post on topics of the day. Others can choose to join, debate or ignore. As Dyson notes, the very modest warming has been highly beneficial to the world. Cold is much more dangerous. And the CO2 has helped to green the earth. We have had an 18 year pause in any warming. NOAA has been cited by a whistle blower as manipulating data to make the warming seem more significant and dangerous as did East Anglia (from the email leak).

Dyson also suggests that in 50 years, fossil fuels will likely be a thing of the past and even if the planet is warming, 50 years is nothing in terms of climate changes which are measured in hundreds of years not something as small as 50.
