My son had a ballgame in Taylorsville today, so I had a chance to watch Billy practice. He is a stud on the diamond. He can flat out fly around the field and hits pretty well also. While I was there he destoyed an inside fastball to center that hit the top of their HUGE outfield wall. Would have went out at any other field. He also pitched and could close for us right now. Too bad he probably goes high enough in draft that he won't be in maroon and white.

I think he signs almost regardless of where he is drafted. From what I understand, his family is not very well off financially. Honestly, I can't blame him if he takes the money.

I spoke to some of the parents that were there and seemed to think that if he doesn't go very high in the draft he will go juco if he doesn't qualify for us.

So school-wise at least money wouldn't be the issue.

I don't see any way that Hamilton plays baseball at MSU. The kid is a stud and he will either get drafted high enough out of high school and take the money or he will go Juco and take the money from there. He won't be playing college ball as a sophomore/junior.

Just an unreal athlete. I have no real ambitions of seeing him in Starkville.

And because of that, it makes even more sense for him to sign with MLB. He could get a signing bonus, give his family some of the money, get them a good house, fizzle out in A ball, and then go play college football get an education for free and possibly have a chance to go to the NFL.
