But don't count on an explanation from the Leb. It's too much to ask for our head coach to address the backup QB situation in a press conference. He's not there to provide information, just coach speak.i went to prep. and with that being said….to give a 19 year old walk on kid from prep the keys to offense when you’re paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for real backups is ******* INSANE to me
Coach speak is all any coach ever does in those interviews. But don't count on an explanation from the Leb. It's too much to ask for our head coach to address the backup QB situation in a press conference. He's not there to provide information, just coach speak.
I’m assuming he is not mobile at all?? If not, I just don’t think Billy sitting in the pocket expecting to have time to throw was a good game plan. Roll him out, get him moving.
Stepped up? We have zero points and leas than 100 yards passing.Dude has stepped up for the most part in a very difficult situation
I'm sure our defensive players can run and tackle v south side high but they slow and weak v lsu.I imagine he’s plenty mobile against Jackson Academy. Not so much against LSU’s D Linemen.
Name one coach who discussed his personnel decisions in detail and what exactly would you have him say? Should he break down every practice play and show the QB competition? I’m more angry that we don’t take easy points early before the game is completely out of hand. Thats an easy coaching decision to critique. But don't count on an explanation from the Leb. Bitching about Lebby not giving any meaningful information in press conferences is laughable.Name one coach who discussed his personnel decisions in detail and what exactly would you have him say? Most folks couldn’t even articulate what they would want to hear to make them feel better. I get it. Our injuries suck. Losing to an average LSU team because of them sucks. Hopefully we get some guys back soon.Bitching about Lebby not giving any meaningful information in press conferences is laughable.
Discussing a 1 2 QB issue with someone who looks crappy starting isn’t quite the same as addressing how the #2 beat out the #3 and #4 in spring practice or fall ball or whenever. And if he did to what end? So he tells you why he makes that call. Are you expecting him to say something that makes perfect football sense (most likely), or are you hoping he will say something stupid like he really likes the lift kit on Pucketts Z71 so he gets the nod? How does any statement change a thing about where we are?Jon Sumrall. Monday, October 12, 2026
Offensively, Sumrall said the plan at quarterback remains the same, with Aaron Philo as the starter and Tramell Jones Jr. as the backup.
Philo wasn't at his sharpest in the loss to South Carolina, but Sumrall stopped short of blaming the quarterback for the defeat.
"Philo had the pick and the fumble; those were two not-good football plays,'' Sumrall said. "I thought Philo, honestly, with his decision-making, was decent, was good. There's a lot of things around him that need to go better. Having said that, Tramell got reps [Monday] in practice. He's going to continue to get reps. I believe in Tramell. I've said this publicly: I think Tramell can be our starting quarterback here, and we can win football games."
See how easy it is not to devolve into coach speak after every question?
Yeah but they don't have dead injuns hating on them like we doSomething happens to Leavett, LSU isn’t in much better shape at QB than MSU.
People who make Lebby's salary get asked all the time ''WTH is going on?''Discussing a 1 2 QB issue with someone who looks crappy starting isn’t quite the same as addressing how the #2 beat out the #3 and #4 in spring practice or fall ball or whenever. At this point in his tenure they are good questions. We're playing a prep school QB on the road against LSU in year three and with what we're paying our coaches and players the questions aren't misplaced. I'm curious whether or not he's got ANYTHING to say other than garbage *** coach speak.
I think we have NIL money to field a competitive 1st team but not necessarily a comparable 2nd. Funny enough, if true, we are in much the same position we’ve always been. Our 1st can largely play with anyone. We have to hold our breath when our 2’s go in.People who make Lebby's salary get asked all the time ''WTH is going on?''
