I know very few pay attention to 3A and I think to bad. Bishop McNamara is coached by Rich Zinanni who has been with the Bishop 40 years, winning 330 games to date, currently ranked #4 on the IHSA all time winnest high school coaches list. Newman is coached by Mike Papocccia who has been with the Comets 36 years, winning 307 games to date, currently ranked #6 on the on the IHSA all time winnest high school coaches list.
I know Bishop Mac is bigger, strong and faster (heck Newman has a sophomore quarter back) and is a clear favorite to with the entire class let alone this game. I think though that it's noteworthy two coaches with over 640 combined wins, 9 combined first place and 5 combined second place finishes are on the same field facing each other..
