Two questions.

Isn't IMG where that HUGE kid from Australia is going to play?

I wonder how BSC's record of getting kids in top college programs compares with other top tier teams in the VHSL?

I can already hear Danny and Matt lighting up their keyboards to answer my second question!

This is only year 2 of the new BS experiment, would be fairly impossible to make a real answer to your second question based on one year's data.

And yes, that's where the Aussie is playing.

You basically have to be a D1 college recruit at this point to start on the BS team and already have offers before joining.

The Beach District may never win a state 5A or 6A Title again. Most D1 talent transfers to BSCS. But they and Chris Scott (former Ocean Lakes Coach) have created a huge mess for Bishop Sullivan! It's very strange how this VAPilot article doesn't mention that the TCIS suspended them for ALL SPORTS from tournament play for 3 years starting in 2017 -18!!!!
There's no public info as to why they were suspended but accusations are that they're recruiting kids with sports scholarships. It appears TCIS is resisting the appearance of having a sports academy in its league. The line has been drawn. We'll see how things work out.

I suspect Chris Scott is trying to figure out how to start his own IMG Academy without Bishop Sullivan in the near future. Things are too quiet concerning BSCS vs TCIS. It's been about a year since this news came out without ANY updates!

The silence is deafening!!

Wow... Amazing foresight from you on this! If he could I am sure he would in a heartbeat.

Of coarse they are giving scholarships. They have to be and for football they don't want to play any of the other schools. They want to play the big boys only. It is the other sports that are hurt. The other non revenue producing sports now have no one to play in the area bc the other schools are punishing them for their behavior in football.

You are absolutely right about the rest of the 757 football product being watered down. What a shame. At least the kids that do play for BS will for the most part get a D1 Scholly.

One thing you are incorrect on is they want to play the public schools around here like Lake Taylor and Oscar Smith, but the citywide ADs and principals came together and said NO ONE will be allowed to play them. From a coaching aspect why play them? Give them free access to your kids, but further more playing them only provides them validation. No AD is going for that.

Cheaters should never be given validation and Scott has never won anything without the stench of breaking rules surrounding the situation. I applaud the citywide AD's.
