It’s quite a mess. This Bishop school is super sketchy. It was reported today that Bishop played on Friday, then came back on Sunday to play IMG on ESPN.

Yeah, played in PA on Friday then played 2 days later against IMG. It was a brokered game and apparently IMG played the team last year too(it was a bloodbath) so IMG probably knew itd be another bad game.
So odd that it managed to make it onto ESPN. A game between a couple of local high schools here with 0 D1 prospects would have been better to watch.

You have to ask yourself what is the motive here? Do the schools get paid like you do in non conference college games and the coaches stand to make some cash.

I think Dwight Howard went to a scam school for a little while. I think that was one of the knocks on him before the draft was that he had been to like 4 schools in three years (may be a different NBA player but a lottery pick from around that time). But one of them the school was essentially the basketball team. They pitched it as sort of an IMG type set up focused solely on basketball, but in reality it was just a guy without resources looking to cash in I guess essentially as a street agent. I'm guessing this guy was aiming to do something similar for football.

ETA: It was not Dwight Howard.

I blame ESPN and whoever puts together the games. Criminals, scammers and opportunists will always be out there, but you have to be a better judge than that. No excuse.

Exactly. It took about a minute to find this school's MaxPreps page and see they went 0-6 last fall and were outscored 227-42. How could ESPN have 17ed it up so badly?
