At least people from Kemper County aren't from Jones County. They suck.

Not cool

but certainly interesting.

Not that many years ago, about the only know Black Bears had crossed across the MS River from Arky., over into the Delta.
(So I understand it)

Now almost to Meridian.

And at least neither are from smith county. Or Baxterville, I'm pretty sure they're an honorary member of smith county.

In ten more years, I bet we will be smoking pot and hunting black bears in the Magnolia State....preferable at the same time.

True. They came across from the White River Refuge. We've seen tracks on the farm but, very rarely do we ever see one.

It's cool because there's one less of them now. If you are going to allow animals to wander around close to populated areas that can kill people then you should at least allow them to be hunted.
They're 17ing endangered. And you sound like a dumbass talking about them like they're going to wander into your neighborhood and reek havoc. .2 seconds of research shows that each attack in X amount of years was caused by people wandering into THEIR zone. THEY are known to be extremely sciddish when unprovoked.

Dammit, what's wrong with you? Not even mentioning the fact someone wrecked their car in the process.

And it's only two types that are threatened....North America has quite a few...
I actually found a few tracks this weekend in a buddy of mines garden, down near Hammond LA. The numbers are on the rise down here.

They're in poplarville. Or at least one is. My boss gets pictures of one every year on his game camera during deer season. I use to not believe they were here until I saw the picture. Now black panthers, still don't think they're around. I've never actually seen any proof and the only people I've heard that have seen them have probably also seen big foot

From Jones County. My grandfather came from Smith County. I guess I'm screwed.

I grew up in the FL panhandle and black bears are everywhere. We lived in a neighborhood where we had to keep our trash cans in the garage until garbage pickup day because the bears would be all in it. I've ran several out of my back yard. With all that said, I've never once heard of a black bear attacking someone. They truly are more of a pest than a danger, at least that's my opinion.

Learn up.

Want more bears then make them valuable.

Deer a hundred years ago was rare. They were made valuable and their population has exploded.

Think with your head instead of your heart.

I highly doubt it was black.

There are panthers here (had one walk under my deer stand about 10 years ago) but they aren't black.

Yep. Black bears are nothin more than over sized coons.

We had reports of one on our place in smith county a few yrs back. The neighboring farm hand claimed he saw one and we had strange claw marks on a couple trees.

I'm also from Newton County. Yes! I heard about this through the traditional channels -- apparently it's a big deal back home.
