Does anyone think that our plane going to Colorado has any correlation to Ruby stating that we have started with interviews?

Why not conduct your first round of interviews at a neutral site to avoid media scrutiny from MSU types and current school's fans?

Byrne knew we would be in search mode after the UK debacle (at least). I would not be surprised to learn that preliminaries (lining up Neinas, having background checks started, gauging interest through agents, etc), were underway in early November. I would assume that formal interviews were under way through Neinas and surrogates immediately following the Kiffin announcement.

Denver is a hub for flights out West and can easily be reached from most places west of the Mississippi, much like Atlanta is, where MSU does interviews for staff all the time when conducting national searches.

I've been waiting on rugbdawg to give us a report live from Denver. I hear he has tremendous reporting fundamentals.

I think that's exactly what happened. It most likely went down something like this.
Greg calls Hassell Franklin on Wednesday night and asked him to send his jet to CO Thursday morning because Ruby was going to release a statement that afternoon about interviews. HF then calls his son and VP of manufacturing and tell them to set a meeting up with one of the top 50 furniture retailers in the US first thing in the morning (because you can usually get in to see them this time of year on a couple hours notice ) . VP of Franklin calls president of Sofa Mart and fills him in on the plan of Rubys release; being a good sport and not to busy this time of year he agrees to meet with them thinking this would be a great idea. However he is in Boise, so he jumps on his jet to fly back home to Denver. The Franklin jet leaves Bryan Field with Little Franklin and heads to Tupelo to pick up VP then off to Denver. They all meet on the runway in Denver and call Greg and Hassell to let them know all things are in place after which Ruby lets his statement out. They then all eat lunch at a great little deli near the airport before returning to their planes and heading back to Starkville and Boise to get back to what really pays the bills (Little Franklin picks up the bill for the slight inconvenience he caused the President of a several hundred million dollar company). Once back in Starkville they pick up Greg and all drive to Houston and sip scotch and smoke cigars while looking over the lake and sitting on the back porch of HFs hunting camp telling story's about how some people spent their whole day tracking their plane. They then call President of Sofa Mart and put him on speaker phone so he could join in the fun. Greg was so thankful that he offered the guy some Club Level tickets to the JSU game and all the food he could eat at the open buffet.

So what's worse, the fact you took the time to write all that or me reading the whole thing?

What's worse is the headache I've got from all of this.

there's usually fire. If Franklin had a plane going to Denver already, couldn't Byrne have hitched a ride, gone to Boulder or had whoever meet him in Denver for an interview, then fly back with the Franklin group? Kill two birds with one jet ride, so to speak?
