I had thought about going to West Point Sunday but after seeing the field I think I'm going to pass. Some of the best matchups could be Penn State kids competing against each other. Curious about Cochran at Hwt.
I don't know if there will be anything as dramatic as Josh Barr's coming out party last year, the Kasak/Facundo faceoff, MM's coming out party two seasons ago (where I thought he was going to hyperventilate himself off the mat in his first match because he was so excited), Kasak's performance two years ago or Davis' that year, but I've been happy with past events and the 45 minute drive and the chance to see guys I won't get to see the rest of the year make it well worth it for me. And, yeah, that drive to West Point isn't too bad view-wise.

Anyone thats close and has never been to West Point should consider it some year. West Point is beautiful and there’s a ton of great history.
I gave thought to the idea of leaving State College after Penn State-Nebraska to head up. But, once that became a night game, unfortunately, that idea went out the window.

People complain about flo a lot in here but I love flo as I also love international wrestling. I watch events all year round with PSU guys in them.

It is a must have for early PSU seasons with some duals and tournaments only on flo. I keep it all year and enjoy the coverage.

They are not perfect but I love wrestling and they allow me to watch it all..
Is this a flo commercial? Lol!

Cochran vs Mirasola is the most intriguing match for me. It'll be fun seeing Duke in a PSU singlet as well.
I really want to see Asher vs. Rocco. It wasn't the first time Ironhead has gushed over what he's seen of Asher in the room. He almost seems over the top with his praise and on today's episode of Locked on Nittany Lions was no different.

Asher is my pick as to who will be the one we are talking about most after the tourney.

My guess is if that’s the finals, Cael will double forfeit it similar to how he handled weights last year that weren’t up for wrestle offs.

Like I said, unless a spot is legitimately up for wrestleoffs, I don't see Cael allowing teammate matches to happen.

Last year
Lilledahl vs McHenry - wrestleoff (obviously the spot was going to be Luke's but you make a true freshman wrestleoff)
Kasak vs Facundo - wrestleoff
Levi vs Matt Lee - obviously Haines had the spot, no match
Starocci vs Ryder - obviously Carter had the spot, no match
Barr vs Connor Mirasola, Barr vs Cochran - wrestleoff
Kerkvliet vs Cole Mirasola - obviously Kerkvliet had the spot, no match

I can see Duke and Sealey match being allowed to happen (for same reason as Lilledahl, a true freshman should wrestleoff) and definitely Cochran vs Cole Mirasola. If Marcus has a PSU guy in his path then I'm sure they'll wrestle.

Barr being injured ironically allows Cael to punt a decision on what to do with 197. If hypothetically he was available, it would be a tough decision to handle. On one hand, a previous finalist earned his spot you'd think. On the other, the other kid is a major blue chipper who just majored a Top 8 guy and has done everything right, is all in on the program and should get a chance.

The high point of that game for me was walking down the ramp with Cael!!! But we got back to Wilkes-Barre by about 2:30, I think. Hoping for less traffic this time.
That's cool! But, yeah, a White Out combined with double OT is a recipe for traffic disaster, without question. It's almost impossible for this Saturday to be worse.

2011 season my father and I drove to Binghamton for the Bearcat duals ( or whatever it was called). In between one of the rounds Cael started a conversation with my dad (he had a PSU wrestling sweatshirt on). Made my generally stoic father's day.
I miss the days of PSU at the Binghamton open. When Penn State and Cornell both sent pretty full teams, there were some great matchups. Met David Taylor and his dad, and Kyle Dake.

If it is, that would be quite remarkable. I don't follow the high school kids that much, but obviously I've heard rumors that Henckel is all of that, but Levi Haines really does seem to be on another level at this point and if Henckel made it interesting in any way, I'd be duly impressed.
Agree. Henckel is very good. Young man definitely has a shot at multiple National Championships especially after a red shirt.

This is a unique season for the team with all of the freestyle the guys wrestled over the summer. We all wish they’d have more challenging competition, but I trust the coaches plan to ramp them up.
It’s all building up to March. Cael has the plan. It all fits a schedule the coaches work out over the summer. Their ability to execute the plan is masterful.
