Not only a tough schedule, but WOW, it sure is front loaded! Their 6 best opponents in a row and the bye week is Week 10/11.

Richlands and Giles are perennial 2A playoff teams that usually play late into November at least.

PH was pretty good last year, but 5A playoffs are brutal.

Lord Botetourt has been a tough team since Harless took over. (It would be great if Northside could find a similarly impactful coach)

I think Amherst has the potential to be as good or better than last year. (Imagine how good they would have been if their QB didn't get injured)

Salem will have some key impact players to replace due to graduation, but they have a lot of experience returning as well.

I know I will be following their progress closely throughout the year. For this year I sure hope 8 teams are chosen over 6 to make the regional playoffs. There could be 9 or 10 teams fighting for the 6 or 8 spots. Salem, Blacksburg, Amherst, GW Danville, William Byrd, JF, EC Glass, Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, and Pulaski could all be in the running for those spots.

I like Amherst's schedule as well- Salem, Blacksburg, & GW Danville OOD, with the Seminole slate will have the Lancers playoff ready.

Very tough schedule for Amherst but they are lucky they have Salem and GW at home! If they can get 7 wins, I think they still get at least a 5 seed just off of S.O.S.
