Blacksburg clock

The clock issue was strange. Salem scores with 8:52 left in half. Clock continues to run while Salem is setting up for extra point. Officials finally blow whistle with about 8 minutes left. Huddle and decide to put the clock at 9 :45 . The half just got longer by almost a minute. Blacksburg gets ball rolls the qb to the right and completes a ten yard pass and four seconds comes off the clock. Clock hardly moves on a number of Blacksburg plays. Second half officials turn off clock and keep time on field. Does anyone know what happened to clock? Made for unusual second half.

So the clock was working just fine but the clock operator was so bad that the officials turned it off? Never seen that before
