And they should have gotten it...Salem and JF played Saturday night a few years ago because of a parade during the day if I remember correctly...a little more traffic at a VT game than a parade lol

I don't think this was a VHSL problem. I don't think Woodgrove agreed to the time being pushed back because they didn't want to get back too late. Both teams have to agree to the change according to the article.

You can play on whatever day Friday or Saturday and at whatever time you want IF both teams agree. If both don’t agree the default time is 1:30pm. They sent an email out about this last week.

One little typo from the article -- the winning streak for Phoebus that is the VHSL record is actually 52 games, not 45. It was snapped in 2011 when Woodside beat them 14-9. So Westfield - if they were to win the state title this year - would have a shot at it next season if they can start 13-0 (that would tie the mark).
