Always a loser. Thanks for reminding me of why you should be a Statesman (or is it Okra). Only we could 17 this up. A 6-3 lead with OUR offense against one the SEC's best Friday night starters on the road. We are a total 17ing cluster 17 wagon. I feel awful for Stratton.

He knows he'll be getting paid this time next year while Reed is working for State Farm.

That is starting to speak volumes as to our problems.Whether it's Butch or Cohen or Cohen listening to Butch too much, how in the hell does one not see that Stratton is our ace until a month into the season? </p>

The first few weeks of college baseball season are essentially spring training games in terms of lineups, rotation, etc. We were trying to get a look at Bracewell and some other guys to see if they could help us or not. Plus, we knew Bracewell was going to be limited as to how deep into games he could get, so we paired Stratton with him. In my mind they were more "co-starters" than starter/reliever. Same thing for Routt & Mitchell. Of course, my biggest pitching beef right now is Routt's regression and our refusal to start Evan Mitchell. I know Todd isn't a huge fan of the guy, but he's been solid so far. And he was arguably our 2nd or 3rd best pitcher last season. Then again, if you listened to Cohen after the game last Sunday, he mentioned a terrible bullpen session that Mitchell had leading up to the Vandy series and hinted that he still has some mechanical issues he's trying to iron out. So that led me to believe there's more to it than just game day performance with him.

I mean, we all love hard workers, but at some point, you have to get the talent to play hard too. We're in Cohen's fourth year and Sam Frost is the best 2nd baseman we got? Even with injuries, I ain't buying it. Demarcus Henderson has shown the ability to hit the ball, but goes into like a 3 game slump and Cohen yanks him. Meanwhile Frost has sucked forever, gets lucky for 3 games, now Cohen has all but penciled him in as a starter for eternity.
