Didn't realize UGA was only seeded one spot higher than us (records very similar). I remembered losing to UGA and then beating Ga Southern, but I had forgotten Stanford put us out.

Scott Mitchell scored the only run against Stanford with a solo HR.

Later that year, I wound up working at Stanford where I once ran into Jeffrey Hammonds (who played for the Cardinal before he was in the major leagues) before a football game (probably against San Jose State).
