The heavy responsibility of breaking MSU's push to hold our place in the National Championship hunt Saturday lies 100% on the shoulders of Bo Wallace. The Black Bear's outcome is not on Good Bo / Bad Bo, but on Bo alone.
If he plays well, the Bears will play well. If he is ankle hurt or fails to carry the rest of the players on UM's offense it will be a long day for the Bears, because after Bo there is not all that much worth saying about the Bear's Offense.
Get into Bo's head and we have won this game in the first quarter. Get into Bo's head and the final score will be whatever Dak and the heavily talented MSU offense scores vs the egg UM will lay as the result of an unproductive Bo.
What do we need to do to shut him down? LSU's fans taunted him on the sidelines until they wrecked any mental stability he might have had when that game started. Trouble is, the UM stands will be full of UM fans. He will be standing in front of supposed friends in Vaught Hemmingway.
So what can we do?
We put his butt on the ground every play. They can't put the second string QB into the game to replace him, because after Bo, there is no one in Oxford worthy of taking a snap.
We force turnovers - strip the ball (he seems to enjoy fumbling it anyway) and recover all fumbles. One or two fumbles is all it will take.
We intercept his passes. We know where he likes to throw the ball. Key on those situations.
We have the defense to do this and the offense to make them suffer every mistake they make.
I can see 28+ to nothing for the dogs by halftime. I can see another 50+ to 0 by the end of the game. I can see an empty stadium by the middle of the 3rd Quarter, if not at halftime.
I can see CBS camera shots of drunken UM frat boys crying in the bleachers while their well dressed dates look at them in disgust.
I can see Bo leaving hurt in the head and a failure in his final game in Oxford.
