We need Jax, and hopefully few more pieces. Raneys maybe out of equation for us now. How about Coby Merrill, can one of Ross or Coby get to 197 ? Do we have a chance with Adam Waters and Domenic Munaretto?

Heard OSU offered Jax a pretty hefty price and more than 95% of coaches in the sport make. And, nobody knows what BO was offered and he himself said all the offers were in the same ballpark. I won’t say what I heard for Jax because it’s all gossip, just like the $5m figure

LOL. You realize that 95% of college wrestling coaches make under $300k, right? So over 5 years, Jax was offered $60k a year. What's the problem with that.

Review my many posts on the subject of Bo on the PSU board. I always had a bad feeling about the Bassetts with regard to being too money centered going back 8 months ago. You don't get $5M unless you invite the conversation. I don't begrudge them taking the $5M. I just would have played the ending differently then they did.
You realize NIL deals are year to year, right? So, I am talking about what “I heard” he was offered for one year. And, yes, the offer I heard was higher than the number you referenced above. I don’t have a problem at all. I guess you missed my point - I said folks shouldn’t throw silly numbers around when they really don’t know. Half of these rumors regarding bags are coming from coaches.

Ross has no shot at 197. He is already at 6-3 and 225 as a HS junior. If he redshirts, he has three years to bulk up to 250-260. That's a pretty easy reach three years out.

It's possible his natural weight is close to 200 and he's bulked up for football. If he doesn't plan to play football in college, he could move down if those things are true. But yeah just from the eye test, it doesn't look like 197 would be easy

I know they are not one year deals but they pay out after each year. I am not sure why PennState1985 decided to take the $300k figure and divide us by 5. The high figure I heard for Jax was for 1 year, not 5.
There’s lots left and nobody is playing that waiting game.

Add up the NIL for Hendrickson, Hamiti, Amine and Fish. Oh, and Taylor.
Last year at this time, Okie State was also undefeated and ranked 2nd in the country. The only thing different from last year’s team and this year’s team are the four portal guys. All paid for.
All the schools are doing it — Okie State, Penn State, Michigan and Iowa. The only difference is everyone hates Iowa so for some reason they see it different.
If you guys want to believe Iowa is paying Bassett $1m a year so be it. I heard OSU offered Jax a crazy number as well (and, not even close to what Iowa offered). And, Ross was all in on Iowa until recently. A reasonable person would conclude the money offered by both programs was comparable for Ross (or else he would be at Iowa)—- which is consistent to what Bassett also said for his recruitment process .
So much wrong with all of this. As you’ve been told multiple times… Chad isn’t paying NIL and all but one of those transfers had an agreement or an existing offer from Coleman which all came before Chad got involved with OSU at all. Are we paying? Yes. Are we paying what Iowa is paying? No. Is Bo getting 1.25/yr for him and Melvin (625/per)? A ton of credible people seem to think so. But is Melvin actually part of it at all? No not legally. So is Bo really getting 1.25? Yes.

Also, I know all 4 of the portal guys are getting paid and at a very fair price. Chris Perry and Tyler Caldwell were responsible for bringing them in, not David.
The whole point of this is that ALL the schools are doing it and nobody knows the facts. It’s a contract and it’s suppose to stay private. Do kids talk, yes but, I don’t think they are releasing all the details. Folks are taking what they want from conversations and hearsay and running with it.
In the last ten posts it went from Bo getting a $1m a year, to $1.25m a year to possible Bo and Melvin splitting $1.25 a year, meaning $625k each. Point is, NOBODY KNOWS, except Bo. And, in his own words, all the schools were comparable with their package.
Chad was publicly and media quoted on being involved bringing DT here and promoting RTC.

I agree that not many, but, not nobody knows. But, if money was the same, he wouldn’t choose Iowa and Va Tech probably couldn’t compete with the other three in a bidding war. So, it’s easy to summarize on the whole comparable idea.
But really, it doesn’t matter. It over and done with. He’s not a Cowboy and he’s at Iowa. I didn’t want to root against him and I didn’t want him at PSU…so I got half and that’s better than nothing and I have to root against him.
