That's the thing though. Is there liberal bias in media? Yes. Is there liberal bias on college campuses? Yes. But there are reporters (liberal - yes) that still believe in integrity and journalism as the quest and reporting of truth. There are professors and deans (liberal - yes) that are concerned with teaching effectively the tenets and curriculum of their perspective fields. I don't condemn the entire field of journalism or the lot of professors because of liberal ideals. Trump has been hostile with the media for decades, he has a very casual relationship with statements and taking positions on subjects. It isn't laughable any longer when the man runs for President. If he had not used the "my way" angle to convince the public he is "different" than the typical politician, and been more selective with his statements....I think the media would have been more receptive of him. But when you threaten the strength of NATO (without clarification), praise ruthless leaders of hostile nations (without reason), accuse people in the media of being bad at their jobs, lash out at people like a spoiled child, and lie with the attitude of being just and right (such as with his tax returns), things aren't going to get better.
But I don't think he wants them to get better. He wants the war with the media. He wants people accusing him of racism. It helps him establish the us versus them narrative. Look, maybe I'm wrong, but I fear this is their strategy from the beginning. It's an attempt to establish a new party, unopposed, seemingly "of the people", but much more sinister in nature.
I do agree with you, his policies will help the middle class, at least temporarily. But I do not trust Bannon, I don't trust Trump, and I don't like the plays they've been calling so far.
