1. The feel of the show is incredibly authentic given it's a television series. I can't imagine how much HBO doles out to produce it.

2. Was anybody else surprised when Jimmy had the nearly naked showgirl with her legs wrapped around him and he said "Ok... now go put some clothes on mom!" Wow...

3. I never knew Al Capone was short enough to play QB for Mississippi State.. but evidently he was.

4. I love Dabney Coleman. The scenes involving his maid and butler are over the top and make you squirm.

5. I'm ready for the Schroeder woman to become something more than the clueless, penitent immigrant.

6. The ending was fairly good and made me laugh, but are we supposed to believe that guy had been wandering around the woods for a few days after being gut shot?

Also.... if anybody has the cliff's notes version to the plot of Wallstreet: Money Never Sleeps I'd be much appreciative.

the Schroeder chick storyline sucks.

Im still not completely clear on what happened with the robbery that is the crux of the start of the series.

I think she and Nuckie will get together. There's an obvious storyline with her being anti-alcohol, him being the mastermind, and the transition of her character into the business. There's also the fact that he's behind her husband's murder, so there will be the huge drama when she finds out about it. All specuation, but it could be interesting. I expect to see some big changes in her character.

I agree with #6. It was snow all over the ground in one scene. Then this fellow shows up (no snow to be found), and he's survived wounded, in what should be sub-freezing temperatures.

Nuckie sells a shipment to New York (Rothstein) at the same time Capone's boss in Chicago decides not to get involved in the liquor business. Capone thinks it's a bad idea so he and his cronies whack him and take control of Chicago. For Chicago's first shipment, Capone and Jimmy knock off the initial load from Nuckie to Rothstein. Rothstein blames Nuckie. Nuckie blames Jimmy.

in the woods when capone freaked out?

It was not even clear why the Chicago guy got whacked. I had to read a review to understand that. And frankly, the reviews of the first episode couldn't keep things straight.

..made a lot more use of large sets, props and vintage vehicles. Not to mention large crowds dressed in period costumes. They put on the dog for the first episode.

Colosimo was killed by Frankie Yale who was hired by Johnny Torrio. Torrio wants liquor in Chicago and had to kill Colosimo to be able to expand into that venture.

Nuckie told Rothstein he'd be responsible for pickup and transportation so Jimmy and Capone knew it would be New York guys in the trucks.

As for why the Chicago guy got whacked, I just assumed it was because he didn't want to be involved in liquor but the other guys did. I figure there will be a lot more whacking in Chicago as Capone moves up.

I would feel dumb asking these questions but my wife is smarter than most everyone I know and she was asking questions.

and that's what the review said, Colosimo was killed b/c he didn't want to get into the biz.
