Has absolutely nothing to do being upset by mid major. The problem is that the NCAA is absolutely worthless and they are making a ton of money over basketball who hast to play in whatever conference football can get into. Basketball brings in an enormous amount of revenue that is raped by the NCAA. If ESPN had full media rights for basketball, a tournament with major conferences only would already be going on. Look at what’s going on in football right now. The University of Cincinnati has about a 50% chance of playing in the college football playoff if they go undefeated. The lobbying by the talking heads at ESPN is already, again, promoting that they do not have the résumé and strength of schedule to participate in the playoff. ESPN screwed UCF with their opportunity to win a national championship because they had a national championship caliber team, however they did not have an opportunity even with two straight years of success. So why is it good for the goose and not the gander? Why is Cinderella infatuated about in March and we push March madness on everyone because anybody can win at all? Who is going to wear the glass slipper this year? This is why we do not have automatic bids into a playoff in college football with the major conference champions. This is why the BCS does not exist anymore. The underdogs knocking off the marquee teams in ESPN’s long term contracts. However this is supported in basketball when a Big Sky champ can have thier I totally agree that basketball should not share the fruitful finances with teams that only can put 500 people in the stands. The same people would ***** about West Virginia football financing “Marshlas” athletic department with a one football game per year that was supposedly good for the state. Huggins called out the BS by the NCAA of looking the other way in football because they’re going to make their money in basketball. Plain and simple. As college athletics are already circling the drain, might as well enjoy what’s left without the worthless NCAA.
