My understanding of the situation is, if Clemmons wins, they're in. If they lose, they won't be in.

I think he's talking about getting one of the top 4 seeds the and first round bye that accompanies it, not just making the invitational in general.

But I could be wrong.

What Swifty said - I believe that was the number when factoring in the Miami/'Cuse game beforehand. That obviously changed dramatically when Fran "got Dumbo in, baby".

I would imagine they'll get #4 if they win, seeing as they'll have just beaten SMU and the #5 would go to the ASU/ISU winner. Go Mustangs.

The four conference championship games that should provide a higher ranked champ than #17 Clemtech (if they win) are the SEC, Big 10, Big 12 and MWC (Boise St., CFP #10 - who won tonight). All are currently ranked ahead of Moo U, so they'd have to jump someone who just won and is currently ahead of them in the CFP. Their overall body of work is also highly unimpressive (but apparently hasn't mattered so far). If SMU wins they should receive a bye based on their current ranking (#8).

Is it possible they jump the #15 ASU/ #16 ISU Big 12 winner, both of which have fewer losses? It's possible but would add to the controversy - but they haven't let that get in the way of their agenda so far.

I understand, but since they've face-planted against every other team with a pulse they've played, I don't see that justifying the move. One win over a ranked team plus two losses and another loss to an unranked team is hardly impressive.

ISU has currently beaten 2 ranked teams, ASU has beaten 3 of them and both have a bigger number in the W column - which is what the "committee" has been holding us as most imortant so far - and both are ranked ahead of Moo U. So, based on that, all their cards would trump a Moo U hand that includes 3 losses and only one win over a ranked team, and their lower current ranking.

But as we've seen, they don't let facts stand in the way of arranging the scenario the way they want.

Here's hoping this is all moot.
