Boise State #14?

~2500 and 2 time zones away. How many fans are going to make those trips every year? Im not going to Boise ID in Nov to watch a game on a smurf blue field with snow piled up on the sidelines. Also, how many tickets are they going to sell to their fans going to Columbia, Athens, Gainsville?
1. Travel. You'd be adding a lot of it.
2. Scheduling. You're already making a lot of scheduling changes at the last minute, if you add Boise you'd double it.
3. Money. Why split the pie 14 ways when you can split it 13 ways? Makes sense if #14 is bringing in new revenue, but Boise isn't.
4. Who ever heard of a "temporary" conference member? No matter what you call it on the front end, at the end the perception everywhere is going to be that you kicked them out of the league.
5. Next year is going to be the year Boise falls back to their natural level. They start 8 seniors on offense and 9 on defense. They've had a great decade, but their time is about up. Just like Marshall's was a few years ago when they joined CUSA.
6. Don't they have some NCAA issues brewing? No reason to bring that into the conference.</p>

it has something to do with Boise State being in Idaho. Just a hunch. Have you looked at a map lately?

2. Because they're in freakin Idaho - the only states further from the <span style="font-weight: bold;">Southeastern </span>conference are Maine, Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii.
3. Because they're in a state with 1.5m population, which adds basically nothing to the TV equation.
4. Because they've been in the Big West and the WAC.
5. Stadium capacity is 33,500.
6. As mentioned before, it's a 2,000-mile trip.

They're just experimenting with success. Once they get it out of their system, they'll go back to just being a decent MWC team.
Hawaii went through the same thing a few years ago. Dropped their rainbow jerseys. Started wearing all black. Walked around with an attitude.
Got it out of their system. Now they're back to getting beat by UNLV, just like God intended.
And Hawaii, unlike Idaho, is a place people actually want to be.
Give it time. Once Boise does some self-relection, they'll realize they were just rebelling and we can put this whole thing behind us.

I've seen they bring no revenue, no tv market, no fans, and geographically it's about as bad a fit as you can get. One thing I see not mentioned is recruiting. ID adds nothing to the recruiting base. At least TX is a rich recruiting area that we need to tap.

During those 2 undefeated seasons, they beat a grand total of3 BCS schools, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Oregon State.
Total, they're 9 and 15 against BCS opponents. How doesthat make them attractive to anybody?
Also, why the hell would any SEC school want to be another 'Goliath' in some gauntlet for David to run through?
