WAC commissioner Karl Benson told the Idaho Statesman on Wednesday that Boise State is struggling to schedule a BCS-conference opponent for 2011 - even with the help (and exposure and money) of ESPN behind the effort.

The Broncos are not asking for a return game in Boise. Just one road game. And about 10 teams have turned the Broncos down, according to Benson.

"They're running into a situation where nobody will schedule them, nobody will take them," Benson told the Statesman's Chadd Cripe.

Don't we have an opening?

when I heard some talking heads discussing the fact that BSU can't get anybody to play them, even without a return game guarantee. I thought, Greg needs to make this happen right now. Outstanding publicity for recruiting.

We finally have a decent non-conference schedule for the immediate future, let's not <17> it up by scheduling a BCS buster like Boise.

But if you put them on our schedule, they will be unbeatable that year. Whenever we put teams like that on out schedule, they instantly become even better.

Va Tech next year to open the season so I doubt that they will even look at us. I know Greg is tight with Petersen but we all know how that last rumor turned out.

Mullen should be fired. Put Memphis off one year and get another home game. So I say hell yeah! Bring them on.

Especially playing in the SEC, there should be a law banning our AD from scheduling a team like this unless our team can consistently go 4-0 in non-conference games. I believe that our team will be good enough in two years to mop the floor with LA Tech, but I would rather not get embarrassed ala Oregon this year. I think this kind of game only helps recruiting if you win. Until we can consistently beat Arkansas State, Memphis, UAB, etc., we should not even think about playing teams from other big conferences/Boise/Utah/TCU/BYU.

Why add ANOTHER SEC-caliber team when we don't have to? Switch out Houston and GaTech for tomato cans and we're talking about which bowl we're going to this December.

when ever we schedule a cup cake, by the time we play them, they are bad ***, like West Virginia, GT and Houston. I say do the reverse this time. Plus I don't think Boise State is a SEC caliber team. They play one tough game a year and then play a Jr. College schedule after that. They have not proven anything to me especially after watching them play LA Tech. Let them play our 2009 schedule and see what their record would be. SEC caliber? I'm calling BS!

for the sole reason that I bet Boise would reject it.

It's a great deal. No return game. Cam Newton should be a senior. Our D-line should be good with Boyd and Cox being juniors. I don't think there's anyway Boise comes into Starkville and wins. Last time they played a SEC team on the road, Georgia, they got blown off the planet.
