i know a lot of people don't think they should be in contention for a national championship, and i don't know that they do, but how do you drop them from 4th to 7th after a win?

Well for one their schedule is a joke. You can't keep teams behind Boise that are beating decent or good teams while Boise is killing the worst of the worst. At some point you have to put the teams that are proving themselves in front.

boise is a fun team to watch, but they're fooling themselves if they think they deserve to be up there with that schedule.

Why would anyone want to play them? Ask Oklahoma how that turned for them. Their weak schedule is a product of their own success. There is almost no benefit for a good team to go up to Boise, or bring them to their home. If you lose, you may be out of the national talk if you start out up there. If you are a weaker BCS school and get crushed, you risk ruining your whole season. Good teams wont take that risk. Its much easier to pay for a win against a bad team than to go out and earn one against a competitive team.

All the human polls kept them where they were.

What chaps me about the BCS and poll talk in general is media & general public's disagreement with the computer polls. Look, we put the computers in there simply because 1) we don't trust ourselves to be completely objective. So the computer comes up with a different answer than you, us, the media, etc.... go back to 1). We wanted a measure of objectivity and we got it.

So let's not get ruffled when subjectivity doesn't match objectivity.

who beat Oregon State, a team that almost beat USC and absolutely hammered Washington this weekend, a team that USC lost to, yet the coaches poll still has them at #4. Also someone USC magically has a better SOS because some human decided to put into the computers that teams like Oregon State, Ohio State and others are these great teams. Ohio State isnt that good. they almost lost to Navy, their schedule is patsie and when they played a 2 win Purdue team that has lost most of the big 10 teams so far they lost. USCs schedule is better than Boises but they do have that loss to Washington and USC jumped TCU, Cincy and Boise.

I have more of a beef with USC being anywhere above #9 or #10 at this point than Boise being ranked #6 or #7.

We talk about getting 4 patsies because we play in the SEC, BSU is the opposite. They need 4 good - great teams for their OOC since their conference is mostly patsies. If they seriously want to be considered for a national title that is just what they have to do. They would have to earn it on the road to good teams. I guarantee if they offered Byrne a 2 for 1, we take it.

they need to play tougher games to have any chance to be considered for NC game. Their 5 non conference games this year are Oregon, Tulsa, Miami OH, Bowling Green, and UC Davis. At the very least, they need to ditch a couple of those, excluding Oregon, and add somebody like Iowa and Nebraska. I'm sure that is easier said than done because most schools don't want to play them. They may have to cut the big boys a sweet financial deal to get it done.

I'm not sure where it stands after this week, but on College Gameday Saturday morning they made the point that Boise State's strength of schedule was actually better than Florida's. Thus, an undefeated Boise State team should be better than an undefeated Florida team. Do I agree with that? 17 no. But, facts is facts

Everybody talks about their schedule, but when they do play good teams they always win. They completely dominated Oregon this year, and so everybody said Oregon just sucks- now it looks like they don't suck so back after all. I think they (Boise) should be #4. If Texas screws up, Boise should play the SEC champ for the NC.
