A couple weeks ago one of the things we learned Sunday morning was that the best QB and RB in the state reside in Lake County. I immediately jumped up and nearly spilled my Frosted Mini Wheats. I dont get to see many North suburban teams in person so I wondered how could I have missed this đŸ€”

So I hurried frantically to twitter and sure enough I found that journalists confirming the RB claim, and even furthermore the coach saying he was the best hed seen in 40 years đŸ˜±. Thats hefty praise, I thought, as I considered the phenomenal RBs I've seen over the past 30 or so. Twitter was telling me 438 yards, one game 200+ in another, 306 in another... 6 TDs, 4 TDs, so on and so forth. Then I found the footage, kid is ripping off 80+ yard TDs with ease. Good grief.

Then I thought, "well, at least Jaxson Davis doesn't play football." You see, not only have we been unable to defeat the Blue Devils in football in two tries, Davis is like the Aaron Stewart of basketball not allowing us a W even in hoops. Sorry for that side note. Last time we saw Warren turf did photosynthesis and was green.... and we struggled to get offensive yards let alone points. Yep, the D looks about the same today đŸ˜„

This leaves Brook fans wondering, "will we ever be able to beat Warren in anything?"

Im going to see how the chess club is fairing

They are beatable. But he is a brute. What’s the old timex saying “it takes a licking and keeps on ticking”. That’s how I would describe him. He won’t overwhelm you with speed, but he just keeps going and going and going. Unlike most high school running backs where you hit them a few times and eventually they get tired of it. He does not. His stamina is incredible! Obviously as a phenomenal wrestler that is to be expected. Good luck to you Bones!

Yes, I've seen some footage. You have to make sure you tackle him all the way to the ground, and with that wrestling background its harder than it seems. Sadly, I see too much arm tackling these days, not gonna work against the A Train đŸ˜„

Looks like The Souc finally decided to add The Brook into his Illinois top 25 ending the rankings dearth for The Beloved. This changes nothing. Raiders remain unranked in Chicagoland (except in the hearts of the people) and heavy underdogs, especially up in Wisconsin where this game will be played in the cold and rain.

I say this every year. Warren (8A Public School) is more built for the playoffs i.e. bad & cold weather. He schedules very tough non conference games to get his young players acclaimed to 8A Varsity football. Moreover, he takes the players he gets from the local community and builds around it. Very few transfers. This year none. I think most folks, know you will see more drop balls, fumbles, missed FGs's, muffed punts, etc. in late Oct/Nov. Every playoff game between Warren and BB has had over the years has been in bad weather. It will be a tough game like always ... this years game is in Lake County. Home of Six Flags and Gurnee Mills !

Actually a great point? I think some people thought we were the Warren that was in Indiana. Unfortunately we are near Wisconsin .... while out NORTH you can bring the family and get on a few rides at six flags, shop eat our fine eatery's and catch a Warren Township football game ... that is what Edgy does to kill time if you live out SOUTH ... LOL. Go Warren Township !

You would rather be closer to Indiana than Wisconsin? That's a wild take.

Why isn't Warren in Warrenville?
Theyre near the naval base because its a town ship.

This is what Im saying. This is why Warren is the heavy favorite and where we're trying to get to.

Warren better be on their game
the Brook might be back!
Still giving up too many points on or due to S/T and turnovers. Last week OE returned a blocked FG for like 90 yards we had no business kicking. Also gave up a pick 6 in the driving rain, we had no business throwing. Other than that OE scored in the last 40 secs of the game. Its gotten better since week 3, but it still rears its ugly head every now and then.

Cant do that against Warren.

After much consideration I have come to the conclusion that with preferable weather The Brook should spring a massive upset in Gurnee. If the weather does not comply Warren remains the favorite to take the W.

I realize Warren couldn’t throw the ball all game, but that was coaching malpractice in the 4th. Solid job of running out the clock down 2 scores. Congrats to Bolingbrook, better team won.

I have never figured out the Warren offensive scheme in big games. Congrats to CrossBones and the faith he has shown in this version of the Raiders.

Two points: First, congratulations to Crossbones, one of my favorites on this board. I had the privilege to meet him many years ago when MC had a playoff game at BB. We had a great chat before the game. He was a real gentleman who really knew his stuff.

Second, the lady who cuts my hair has a son who played for Warren about 7 years ago. As such, I usually root for them. Earlier this week, she related to me that he once said, "We always find a way to lose the big game." Better luck next year.
