Next years roster will include Perry, 4-6 BYU transfers. 2-3 other portal players. Maybe McNeeley, the decommit from Indiana, and a surprise recruit or two that most fans won’t think are UK Caliber.

I’d be shocked if it were any better than this.

This pretty much nailed.

Good news is they’ll still be as good or better than one of cals charmin soft frosh classes

He’s Cal’s recruit. Expect all Cal’s players to leave every year. That’s what history has taught us. Fland is no exception, and Cal is no longer here. Fland will not play for UK next season. The exceptions are Dheppard and Perry. Sheppard will enter the draft, Perry likely sticks, as he fits Pope’s offensive scheme well.
Yes. Perry fits well schematically.

Pope took BYU into Allen Fieldhouse this year and walked with a win. He can flat out coach. A roster of that construction wouldn't be bad at all for his first year.
Not enough to win a tourney game this year. Pro pope people seem to downplay his shortcomings. Hope he does well but UK should have been prepared when they knew Cal was looking in Feb to get better.

No reasonable person would make judgements about a coach based on extremely limited results from a single game elimination tournament. It took Jay Wright a decade to win a tournament game. It's the most random even in sports, losing in the first round twice isn't anything that shows he can't coach.

Again, it's BYU. They sabotaged their own season a decade ago when they suspended one of the best players on the Jimmer team because he admitted to having sex with his long time fiancé. The type of player you can realistic get at BYU is much worse than they type of player he'll get here.

I’m not saying he won’t succeed, I’m saying there’s no data to support this yet. We have absolutely no way to know if he can recruit yet. His style of play should be fun but I’m not optimistic about his first recruiting class due to timing. We will see how it comes out when we get filled up.

Perry could become another Jimmer here
