Yes, of course he landed the number one class, he has to. He loses most of his team every year, so he has to recruit more kids than everyone else. He gets those #1 or 2 classes by recruiting more kids.
From 09-14, he got #1 classes because he was landing bigtime stud players. Huge difference.
Yeah, most recruiting services severely missed on Boston, but part of his problem is, he's surrounded by other freshmen that are learning too.
High school and AAU are much different than college. Boston looks good in AAU type games and there aren't too many hs kids that can check him. But, I assume those that evaluated him were more focused on his measurables, length and his NBA potential. They damn sure didn't evaluate his skill and BB IQ.
As far as Toppin, Ware, Askew and Fletcher, you're out of your mind if you think any of them will be here beyong next year. Cam will transfer and the other three will jump just like EJ and Hagans did. The only dudes that stay here are Willis and Hawkins type kids. You thinking these guys are going to be here long term, tells me you aren't paying attention.
Cal didn't change his recruiting, he got who accepted his offers, many didn't, then he had to get transfers to fill in. But as long as he's doing pro days and prioritizing the draft/NBA contracts, we will continue this stupid roster churn bullcrap. He needs to change the culture and get this, it will take years… . once he actually decides to change it.
If he does another pro day next year, we will know that he hasn't changed the culture.
