Book on recruiting

I am trying to recall a book that was suggested long ago by this message board. I believe it was partly or maybe largely about the recruitment of a football player in the delta. Not the Marcus Depree book. But wasn't there another book? I can not recall (yes, I have search google) the name of this book. I know at one time I found it on amazon but that was years ago. Thanks.

Meat Market by Bruce Feldman...

It was a really interesting read. Robert Elliot is widely covered in the book.

Thanks. But I was thinking there was another story written prior to that. For some reason, I am thinking Rockey Felker gets a mention.

Why would a book be written about Felker? His claim to fame was one comeback against Memphis State. You may be thinking of Meat on the Hoof about Darryl Royal written a long long time ago.

Could it be...

"Confederacy of Silence", some of which regarded the recruiting of Handy Campbell? I believe the book mentioned that Felker released Campbell from his scholarship at State so he could transfer to OM.

Confederacy of Silence probably cannot be classified as being "about recruiting," but is a good read. Melvin Smith and Todd Jordan are mentioned throughout.
