It was something he signed around his last week of office, this is absolutely nothing. The impact of this will be ZERO because the one it's repealing hadn't even had time to cause any effect yet.
No impact on coal jobs with this. None. Nada. Zilch.
This will likely have a much bigger impact. Trump will not continue with the appeal.

Most of that is true, but a lot of operators were waiting to see what this rule would be or the result of the election before they finalized their plans, so that is why you are seeing some movement to tick up production and open some facilities now.
My thoughts from watching the video:
1. Trump genuinely wants to help the miners and West Virginia. He loves that voters in West Virginia came out in YUGE numbers to vote for him.
2. Joe Manchin awkwardly trying to get in every picture.

I just get the sense from many of the Liberals on this board that they absolutely hate coal mining and by extension these coal miners. They are very much in sync with Hillary's comments about the industry.
You would think if they loved the state, they would be rooting for at least some amount of return of the industry. Instead they seem to be rooting for its utter demise.
West Virginia clearly needs to versify it's industries and its economic base, but that it's not gonna happen overnight. Obama's regulations, over a very short period of time, are a major reason behind the destruction of the industry.
The EPA had nothing to do with the death of coal. Natural gas killed coal.
If you know ANYTHING, stick to it. Gas has been plentiful enough to fire Plants for decades. It burns a lot cleaner, but doesn't pack as much punch as coal. Co-firing with coal has long been gas's role at Power Plants so equipped. Gas direct to the customer has been a great source of clean burning energy. Now, go to the interwebs and find something contrary. NOW! You're being timed.
You realize Utica and Marcellus Shale gas just took off a few years ago? 2010. The shale gas has flooded the market.

No it hasnt. Nobody is taking gas out of the ground so it isnt in the market and if it were the coal market and gas markets are different markets.

In Ohio alone, the first quarter production of gas for 2015 was 183 billion cubic feet. The first quarter of 2016 was 329 billion cubic feet, an 80% increase.
I traveled frequently in Ohio from 2008 to 2012 and it was extremely difficult to get hotel rooms in the eastern part of the state because of the gas companies coming in and doing title work, then making offers and then setting up production.
Gas production doesnt mean much if there is no way to get it to the market. The hotel rooms were occupied by drilling teams. The pipelines to transport that gas are just now coming online. Until the cracker plants are finished, most of the gas in production will stay in the ground.
They have had cracker plants completed for several years. You are in way over your head pal.

I didnt change my argument. The cracker plant is 2 years away. They may have cracker plants somewhere but the pipelines into western PA and eastern OH are just being built.

The pipelines were for previous oil and gas. You did realize oil and gas existed before shale gas?
The title work was for acquisition of mineral rights and rights of entry/easements in preparation of the actual extraction of the shale gas. To simplify the process for you, title work is done to determine ownership. Rights are then acquired. After the rights have been acquired the actual drilling can begin. Hotel rooms were scarce during this whole process, not just drilling.
