There's so many teams in the playoffs now and more on the way, it won't be a problem. Big 10 is pushing hard for a 24-team playoff, and it's probably just a matter of time before they get it.

If his pocketbook gets hit hard, he may. If it's just generally detrimental to half the conference, unlikely.

I typed this repeatedly on SPS back in 2020 when they started this 9-game B.S.

It's already too much of a gauntlet. It is going to make players more timid trying not to get hurt before a playoff run.

GOTTA HAVE PATSIES on your schedule if you want to make a championship run. Ask Indiana.

Hell, ask OM!

I did too, even earlier than 2020. And we were both right, and the SEC commissioner knew it. That's why they kept the 8-game schedule for so long. But with playoff expansion to 12 and soon to 16 or 24, the additional conference game won't be a problem. There will be more SEC teams in the playoffs than ever before, even with 9 games.

Solution: Get rid of P4 mandate. Rivalries don't matter anymore anyways (for Kentucky, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida), let's get real about that. If they want to continue to play, they can. Make no mistake, that committee is still going based on records. Until it's proven that they are using SOS, don't trust them.

Secondly, it looks apparent that the SEC isn't the physical gauntlet it once was. B1G and a few others appear to be bringing the physicality lately.

Still so much old era thinking going on. At the end of the day I don't know that this influences too much. Still need to get rid of the conference title games and expand the playoff. At that point, it's all good.
